This color did not show up on my dark blond hair. I love the concept of this product, I just didn’t choose a bright enough color. My grays are still very much there!

I have been an Overtone customer for about six years. I have tried many colors, and I've seen many color changes. The smoky lavender is my current favorite. Overtone is easy to use, and easy to mix with other colors. It really stays on my baby fine hair. I am 72 years old, and am finally getting some white in my hair, and I am really looking forward to getting more. Then I can have a lot more fun with Overtone. I have my hair highlighted which helps grab more color. I hope you continue to make the smoky colors.

You cant apply it like you would a conditioner. You will miss strands or chunks of color. I get so many compliments on my hair but parts of my hair wont grab the color

I did like the product, good smell and easy to apply. BUT this was the wrong color for me . I have natural gray with black undertones . I was hoping for a pretty lavender , but this color did absolutely nothing to change my color. I will try again with the lilac shade.

I love how this makes my hair feel without damage, however it added a hue to my hair as to fully toning, and I feel it could be more pigmented towards blue as to a warmer undertone, I use this as a post-bleach toner to avoid damage.

I have been a long time overtone user! I have a white bleached pixie cut and before the rebrand I would buy pastel silver and pastel purple to mix and get an icy lavender color for my hair. I was very excited to see they had created a smoky lavender color, the product photos showed exactly the color I used to get when mixed pastel silver and pastel purple. However when I applied the smoky lavender it turned out like the OG pastel silver. I was really disappointed that it wasn’t more purple considering lavender is in the name. It definitely toned the brassiness but it looks silver. I’m going to go back to getting the other two colors and mixing them.

I loved playing with color and did highlights with the whole Smokys collection! I have dark brown hair so the impact was subtle but fun to play around with. For the most saturated color I would suggest getting the bleach first and then letting the dye sit for 20 mins.

The product itself was nice. The color had no lavender in it at all. I have white hair & was looking forward to a little lavender hint of color but it was only a smoky color. Still made my hair feel nice & gave it a little color just not the color I was looking for.

I bleached my dark hair, hoping to use this to get a smoky purple as shown in the product description. This product did no more than the pastel silver does , even on my bleached hair. I ended up using purple for brown hair, subdued a bit with the extreme silver instead.

It was my own fault knowing I have grey hair that this might not work. But the actual product was thicker and didn’t seem to spread like I’ve used before.

I followed the directions and saw absolutely no difference in the color of my hair. I then tried again, leaving it on longer than suggested, and could not notice any purple tint. It was a great deep conditioner, but not for coloring.

My brown hair now has a lot more gray, especially around my face. I have used your Purple for brown hair previously, but I thought it was too bright when first applied. I was happier with it when it started to fade, So I thought the idea of smoky purple would be great. I applied as directed and could see no trace of purple in my hair. The only thing I thought was that the white color gray hair around my face looked more dull gray. I did try your chat option, but it was not really helpful. I am going to reorder the Purple for Brown hair and maybe try mixing the two to see if that might be satisfactory. Really disappointed that the Smoky purple did not produce what I envisioned it would.

I’ve been using overtone and never had an issue with color taking to my hair, except this time, nothing. The texture was also chunky.
