I'm happy with the color it turned out. But it was like trying to spread clay on my head. I didn't even get to do all of my hair because it was like clay.

I love this color and the shine this product leaves on your hair. Unfortunately, it only lasts a few washes. I also wish it covered stray grays better.

Initially, the color is great, but it turns very red as it’s lighten up so if you don’t like red, which I don’t, this would not be a good color for you.

My roots are grey and dye was trashing all the work my hair restoring shampoo (for perimenopause) was doing. Since espresso brown came out I decided to try it since it is my natural hair color. While it doesn’t completely eliminate the grey, it blends very naturally and gives the impression of highlights instead of grey roots. It’s also helping to protect my hair which is making it grow with no breakage and very little hair loss. For the ladies who are sick of dyeing, but not ready to go grey, I HIGHLY recommend trying this first.

I have naturally light brown/dark blonde hair that I box-dyed black about a month ago. I wanted to see if Overtone might help make my roots less noticeable while in between dyes. There's only a slight difference in the color of my roots, slightly more reddish brown but not much darker. It's hard to tell but I think it made the slightly faded black a little more vibrant. If you want to get the color on the label, I'm guessing it takes a few tries to get there. Nice for a little color boost or tone shift, but don't expect significant results.

Almost because it definitely came out a little more red in my already brown hair. It covered my greys after leaving it in for almost an hour (and is still covering them a week later) Only almost because the undertone just doesn’t match my skin tone. Still a great product, I just need a different color that comes off less red.

I know people are really into making their hair gray on purpose. And it's very pretty on a lot of women. I hear all about how gorgeous the grays are. And they are. I have some beautiful grays. But I'm finding I'm really not ready for them. So I purchased the Espreso Brown Color Duo. It's doing exactly what I wanted! I have super shiny grays at the top and a ton of different other colors of gray throughout the rest of my hair. I added this EB and got the highlights and lowlights that I have always wanted! It's so natural looking. I feel more like myself now. I like that any time I want to go gray I can with the Fader shampoo. I no longer have the skunk effect like I used to with the other hair dyes because I can use the Espresso Brown conditioner and keep up with the roots. I am on a subscription so I keep up with the refreshing and pause it any time I have enough supplies. I purchased the gloss and will be adding that very soon. I keep a spray bottle in my shower of chlorox shower cleaner to keep my shower white. My new routine for my hair is awesome with more time for the fun things in life. Thank you Overtone!

I have a tendency to try other Overtone colors but I always come back to this one. My hair is naturally a darker blonde/maybe light brown and this will show up as a very dark brown on me. I’ve never had any irritation with Overtone products and they always make my hair feel smooth and shiny. Would definitely recommend this

My natural color is dark brown, but I’ve been using auburn since I was about 14. I wanted to try something to make the harsh demarcation line less since I have grey hair coming in. Looks good so far. It’s messy and will stain you and your tub. Smells minty, could be overpowering if you don’t like the smell of mint.

I got the Espresso Brown and it was perfect! Easy to apply, left my hair soft and shiny and was the perfect shade. I wash my hair 3x a week and it has barely faded into a nice light brown. Already have my next subscription on the way and will definitely be continuing very 3-4 weeks! I’m excited to try the conditioner I added on to the mask subscription too!

The highlights get lighter each time I wash, but it doesn't wash out to white completely. I have many weeks of different shades of highlights! And since there are so many colors, I can change to rose gold or purple when I want. All the color and none of the damage and no commitment!!
