The jacket was exactly as described, clean, unissued, and brand new condition. The size was perfect and the materials are a nice quality. No patch but there’s probably a limited amount of those.

Amazing quality. Didn’t come with the patch, as noted by the seller. Smelled like mothballed military surplus, which this is; a good wash and couple rounds of airing in the sun made it smell good as new. Kinda wish the hoodie was removable, but what can you do. No regrets.

I love the Parka as it is in brand new condition with nothing wrong with it. The sizing was on spot as I’m 5’9 and the medium/short wasn’t too long and too big for somebody like me who is only 130-140lbs. It gives off a nice baggy look making it perfect alone or with a layered hoodie. Sadly didn’t get one with a patch but I’m assuming it’s cause I was late too the party but I still love it.

I wish I found this site before I spent $120 on my unissued and when I got it the pockets seams broke and frayed apart possibly dry rot too this site is awesome I’m a short guy but the pants are a little bit long even for the extra short lol

Awesome jacket and comes in perfect quality. Only advice is to lean on the shorter side sleev sizing wise. As a 6’ 5” guy the long size droops over my palms.

I bought the same jacket from "the guide" and the sizing was totally wrong. Americana does correct sizing and also sleeves/chest (which is critical for military garments). Jacket was in perfect condition, had a hood, fit perfect, and gave me that Christmas morning feel whenever you get good surplus that fits. Well done boys!

Fits well. Great condition. My personal one of the two ordered had an inspection slip signed and dated from 1993 which was cool. Will likely get a belt to throw on over at the waist for vibes. Also will likely try to get a liner to beef up the weather insulation. Jacket as is feels comfortable between 45-55, liner would probably make it better down to ~30. Only thing that is less desirable is the hood connection being a stretchy mesh. Not the best for rain, but does ok in light showers for short periods. Possibly even… a smoke break.

Amazing deal! It's a really nice jacket made of nice material. I will wear the heck out of during the colder months. It doesn't have the liner attachment points that M65 typically have but it makes it much easier for layering. MIne has a few frays here and there but nothing that should be an issue in the future. I'm glad this came back in stock. I bought a Medium/Regular from the last batch that was just a smidge too small and returned it (which was an easy process with AP's excellent customer service). This time I grabbed a Large/Regular and it fits just right.

So I have bought at least 6 jackets/parkas from these guys and I absolutely love all of them but the Austrian bundesheer takes the cake by far, absolutely unreal how good this jacket is I’m 6”4, 230 lbs and bought the xl long and it’s incredible, best purchase I’ve made so far, thick enough to keep you warm, thin enough I can wear it in spring and has room for layers too, the water proofing is above par and I love the fit, I’m a barber and I wear it while I cut sometimes and the hair just deflects off this thing like a force field, better than my barber smock, thank you sirs this thing is my favorite piece now, looks clean enough to wear at the job and cool enough that I get people asking me where I got it when I go to the bar after work, absolutely solid piece or wardrobe and if sh@t ever goes down I know I got an apocalypse tier go to fashion piece with enough pockets and swag that I might be the next king of the keep with this thing 😉 thank you again!

What most people say for sizing is correct (im 5'10.5" 176lbs). Using the sizing guide for chest and height if you want a jacket that can layer underneath. Lengthwise, you can 100% trust the sizes given on the description. I am technically between small and medium in chest sizes and chose to buy the medium. The medium for me fits well, with ample space to layer. Even without layering, it doesnt look too big on me when I'm wearing it. HOWEVER, the sleeves are GIRTHY. With several jackets underneath, this WORKS. My arm movement is unrestricted by this even though all the buttons/zippers are secured. The wrist cuff is big, but can be secured smaller with the buttons. I think that with the smaller size, it would work as a STANDALONE jacket without layering. As for the build, its incredible. The heavy fabric shrugs off gusts of wind. I'm not sure if these are treated, but I tried handwashing my jacket when I got it and found that I could not get it wet at all. Like I had it dunked in a bucket of water and found it completely dry when I pulled it out. Honestly the weirdest feeling not being able to wash something, but works well in the rain because of it. The zip out hood is nice because you can hide it if you need to go into a bar/club that doesn't allow any clothing with hoods. I personally think it looks better with the hood out if you dont secure the zipper/buttons all the way up. The hood is a bit of a weird shape and the pictures shown in the listing is really how it sits. It has a weird point on top that makes sense if you have a helmet or beret to protect it, but doesn't look good. If it is raining though, I don't think anyone would really care, but if you want to use it for warmth, you're better off wearing a knit hat and stuffing it in one of the pockets when you're done with it.

For context, 5'10" 190 lbs, ~41" chest. Based on AP's size charts I would normally order Large/Regular but it wasn't in stock at the time. Medium/Regular was in stock, so I decided to take a chance based on others saying the fit was roomy for layering. For me the fit with a single shirt layer is perfect. Can zip, button all the buttons, etc. However with added hoodie layer I can still zip, but am only at risk of losing the neck button if I tried. Overall, great jacket, accurate fit. Will layer with a thin windbreaker for the time being, but have also signed up for a notification when Large/Regular is back in stock. Thanks AP!

It looks and smells like I just picked it up from some sort of sporting store. It’s length is very nice and the material is somewhat thick. For me, the sleeves are a bit too roomy but I imagine that was the intent.
