I had auburn in my hair prior to bleaching and had a bit left over towards my middle and ends, however, even my roots only turned a light pinkish purple color rather than a grey toned medium purple as advertised. Regardless, it was my first time using a product from Lunar Tides and I'm impressed with the quality! My hair feels great and bouncy. I may try a darker pink next.

Hair dye is very pigmented--covered up my faded teal hair perfectly, and covered up my brown roots. The consistency of the hair dye is great, worked well with my thick hair. However, the color was not a smokey mauve as advertised, it turned out more of a magenta-pink, but I still like the color that came out! I got two jars and ended up not needing one so I definitely will dye my hair this color again!

The dye was a really vibrant dark mauve, I loved the color and it went on over my level 10 blonde really well. Not patchy. However like other reviewers have said, there was no ‘smoky’ tones to the color whatsoever. I thought maybe they’d come through when it faded a bit but it just faded to a very bright cool tones pink. Beautiful throughout the whole process but not like the swatches advertised on the site.

I have used so many different brands and colors in my hair throughout the years. This one is by far my favorite! My hair feels great and the color lasts much longer. I also love how it fades into a pinkish, rose gold (on my lighted hair pieces) Just love it!

Directions were very unclear: did not specify if product should be applied on wet or dry hair. Color was translucent and rubbed off onto my sheets and clothing for nearly two weeks. Very disappointed.

Was perfectly accurate to the color advertised, but I made sure my hair was pretty close to the brown shown on the website. I just wish there was more dye in one jar. I used one and a half on my thin, fine hair that is 3 inches below my shoulders.

I looked everywhere to see if Lunar Tides would work on grey hair and I am here to tell you that is does. This color turned my silver greys into beautifully bright pink/purple highlights in my dirt brown hair,(the brown currently has a dusty grey look). I am not sure how long the smoky colors are expected to last but this faded really quickly and that may be because it's on grey. It is a beautiful color but not like the swatch at all. I also purchased periwinkle and am looking forward to those beautiful highlights as well.

Smokey Mauve is a beautiful color, and I was very excited to dye my hair with it, expecting it to look like the dusty purple that the swatch shows as.... It looks a lot more like what I would expect Cranbaby or Fuschia Pink to look like, being a very red, almost sort of pink color. It's extremely vibrant and light, and I still love it, but it's definitely not a smokey or dusty color. This would be a 3 star if I didn't love the color it became, and if Lunar Tides wasn't such an amazing dye in general that is super easy to apply, and doesn't bleed all over my clothing and towels. Definitely going to try Dusty Purple next time to see if that's closer to what the swatch looks like ^^
