The formula is very thick, so it is easy to use, and saturates very nicely. It does NOT have an overpowering smell. A very nice subtle smell. I have only had this in my hair for a few days, so I can't speak to its longevity yet. But knowing it's a semi-perminent color, I'm assuming it will fade sooner than later. But I look forward to seeing how the color changes!!
