It isn't a natural black like other reviews say, or grayscale, it turned out dark blue on my hair (I lightened my hair first though). The tub was just enough to cover my medium length hair.

Great product. Didnt dry out my hair at all and color was true to description. I applied this on my ****** hair and the black lasted about two weeks before it faded to my natural level 2-3 hair (i wash once a week) i would not recommend this on ****** hair as if its not porous it wont stick. I now mix this in woth conditioner to refresh and re-intensify my box dyed hair and it works great.

i like this color! it’s more of a natural black which was fine. there was more than enough in the tub and i still have a little bit left over! the only thing is it stains EVERYTHING and is super hard to clean. i hope its staying power translates to my hair!

I definitely recommend this if you want a very rich, deep, dimensional shade of black but you want it to look more natural. Considering it has blue/purple undertones, I was surprised at how it came out looking so natural. I used a box dye many years ago that was black with blue undertones and it never looked natural like this. I've washed it once and I can tell two things already: it's going to stick for a good amount of time and when it does start to fade, it will most likely fade to a brownish shade, which is a positive for me as I tend to be lazy with touch ups. My hair texture is straight to wavy and fine, about elbow length, and I only needed half of a 4 oz tub to do half my hair (I did a split dye), so the dye goes a long way. If your hair is long and thick and you're doing your whole head I would say you probably need one - two 4 oz tubs. Also it's highly pigmented so it will stain your skin more than expected. I've been coloring my hair for a very long time with various brands and I've never used a dye so pigmented, so be prepared with whatever methods you normally use to clean up your skin after it's all done (I find Vaseline and a loofa helps).

Best black dye ever. My hair was a warm toned blonde, this black is seriously what I've been looking for!! I've had it in a few weeks now, it is fading brown which is lovely since .ost black dyes fade green or blue. Now I'm seeing blonde peak through! It is seriously perfect fade out process. I washed my hair in cold water for the first few washes and have been doing warm/hot the rest of the time, and it looks good still!

I bought eclipse black to dye the ends of my hair, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice! Not only did it go on top of other colors nicely, but if your hair is light it washes out fabulously so you can still change your colors up if you want to!

I loved this dye! I’ve used lunartides several times it’s never been damaging on my hair. I was able to put this dye directly over faded red semi orange hair. I do recommend being thorough when applying because I did have to do a second coat to get some more red, I’m not sure if I just missed it or not. When talking to my stylist we think this black should be easier to get out when I want it gone, we agreed it’s probably safer than box dye
