I haven’t worn tampons in years because they seem to make my cramps worse, so I was very excited to try the Flex Plant Discs. In theory, I think these are fantastic. They are made from plant-based materials (hence, the name) and are very easy to insert. When properly inserted, you can’t feel a thing, and in my experience, didn’t cause any cramping. However, I believe this product should include surgical gloves. I’m not kidding. Taking the used disc out is an absolute mess. I have no idea how you could change one of these in a public restroom without coming out of the stall and scaring off everyone. It’s nearly impossible not to get blood all over your hands when removing and disposing the disc in the trash. The other thing is that if you allow the disc to stay inserted for too long and it’s very full, it can be very uncomfortable. Overall, I think it’s a good product to use at home or if you are out and know you won’t need to remove it in public. It may also be better suited for lighter flow days. Otherwise, prepare to bring gloves with you or you’re in for a very unpleasant experience.

I was hesitant to try them because I thought it’d be confusing and messy but this has changed the period game for me! I am still befuddled. I made the switch from tampons this month. Like when we began wearing tampons there is a learning curve, don't give up. Removal was the only tricky part for me, insertion was so easy I didn't believe I did it right the first time. By the third day, I figured out how to remove easily. Cramps, never heard of her. The period odor, gone. I am a huge Stan and will be shouting from the roof tops at every human I know that still bleeds. Don't let it intimidate you this is a game changer.

It doesn’t hurt going in like tampons do. It’s a little weird going in but once it’s in place you DONT feel it. It’s a great product and while it takes about a few days to figure it out, once you do you never wanna go back to pads and tampons ever again. I’ve tried them all, pads, tampons, cups, and period underwear. Flex plant+ disc is the best product for people with periods by people with periods. Guys, gals, and un binary pals, this is for you!!!

The idea is cool but I seriously think that various sizings could help expand their product… I had high hopes because I SO wanted a period product that didn’t make me feel gross (tampons and pads have that gross ‘soaked’ cotton feel and need to be changed constantly, alongside leaking). But, sadly I tried one out and it was huge. I’m not writing this to be like “I’m so small😫” HAHA, because I’m pretty sure vaginas are generally alike in terms of their “width”, it was just a bummer that if you don’t know your body super well or have anxiety towards it, it will lowkey felt like tire burn putting it in (like shoving rubber up your vagina). Although tampons aren’t super comfy for me either, these discs were even harder to put in than them since you kind of have to squeeze the disc, and it gets less ‘compressed’ as you put it in and can no longer grip it (an uncomfortable process in my opinion since it rubs against your vaginal canal and I think I’ve heard that your vagina is more sensitive during your period, too!). I’m going to try again soon but I’m so sad. I think if the disc itself could either be smaller and/or the rim was way thinner, this would be an awesome product. If I do manage it and it’s life-changing, I’ll write an updated review! …Unfortunately, my initial thoughts are that it’s painful and certainly not for everyone. :(

This has changed my life! I am someone who has a very active lifestyle and loves to travel. I no longer have to stress about my period and how I will change my tampons while traveling. I also have had way less cramps since using the flex disc. The flex disc plant is even better because it’s environmentally friendly! I recommend this to all my friends!

Efficient. Odorless. Low maintenance. Earth friendly. It works for me to use 2 discs per day even during my heaviest flow (compared to a big ol' handful of tampons). Used tampons don't smell good by the way. I always thought this was me - but my used menstrual disc just doesn't smell bad. I really wish I had discovered Flex Discs a long time ago.

Im a pro at insertion and removals now. I’ve been using this me trial disc for 5 yrs now. And haven’t used a tampon since! I love that it is made out of natural materials and material that wont harm you. You don’t feel like you are on your period, because there is nothing obstructing your vaginal walls. I have sex if I want to, and it’s mess free! I Can never go back to anything else. Best thing out there for periods!

Keeping it in place is tricky because my pelvic muscles move it out of place so much. I'm paranoid about keeping my hands clean to mess with it and then I have to wash them after. It's a lot of washing but that's normal with other period products too. I feel like it's just as much a hassle as anything else that u use for your periods. I think my favorite thing so far has been period underwear.

Had to stop using cups after having an IUD placed, so I tried the discs. First thought: I LOVE that I can buy compostable materials for a single use product to try out before committing to a long term option. Second: no cramping from this product, whereas IUD+cup for me is not cool with my body shape. Cramp city. After using for a full cycle, my only critique is that it’s so messy. I tried holding the disc in ways as recommended to avoid spilling or getting it all over my hands but I looked like Velma Kelly washing blood off her hands in Hotel Cicero even when the flow was light. I think this is a perfect product for me when I need stress/leak free long term wear, but if I were camping or out on the town, I’d be loathe to dump the disc without a sink directly nearby. I also did spill on my legs like, three times. Glad to have practiced in the shower once at the heaviest part of my cycle.

I’ve always resented tampons, but am not a pad person either. I’m 36, so I’ve been pinched by tampons a few times a month for 20 years and now I’m pinch-free! The flex disc makes your cycle nbd, as it should be. I use the plant discs and will never go back.

I’m a flex disc OG prosthelytizer. I’m a huge fan and will tell anyone who will listen. However I’ve found, after several good faith efforts, that the plant disc is a little more flexible and thus more prone to leakage (FOR ME) than the OG. If you’re having trouble w this one is recommend going for the original disc, which is excellent. Wanted to love this bc of the plant based thing but it just doesn’t perform for me :(

I was eyeing this product for a while wanting to try it and being a little scared of if it would work and be easy to insert/remove! Sooooo glad I finally tried it out. I'm usually running to the bathroom every chance I get just to check and feeling uncomfortable all day with cramps and heavy bleeding. Today was day 2 of my cycle and I went out with my husband, and had a nice dinner and drinks, without ever worrying or wanting to change my pad. TRY IT! I swear I feel like I won't dread my period anymore, it honestly just felt like a normal day and I can't get over how happy I am this option exists!!! THANK YOU!

I'm literally so confused. This was so easy to insert. I feel so comfortable. AND I'M NOT CRAMPING. I need to keep using this to truly tell what's up so stay tuned! haha But seriously, if all continues to go well this is the best product out there. PERIODT. I really am glad I took a chance! Super user friendly (I did watch the video first as I am a visual learner and that really helped! I also read the instructions and looked at the pictures carefully)
