Amazon wood is often chosen as a sturdier, more textured alternative to Spiderwood. It features a captivating mix of knots, twists, and smooth stretches that add plenty of character to an aquarium hardscape. Whether you are aiming for a river-root look or a clean, minimalist focal point, Amazon Wood is forgiving to work with and looks natural from any angle.
Product Features and Benefits
·Superior Texture: With more "character" than a standard branch, this aquarium wood offers deep grooves and rugged knots that provide an immediate sense of age to your aquarium hardscape.
·The Spiderwood Alternative: If you love the branching look but want something with a bit more bulk and longevity, Amazon Wood is the perfect middle ground for a driftwood aquarium.
·Dynamic Color Profile: Arriving in a lighter, sandy tone, this wood transforms into a rich, darker hue once submerged, perfectly complementing the vibrant greens of aquatic mosses and ferns.
·Terrestrial or Aquatic: Its unique shapes make it equally popular for terrariums and vivariums, providing climbing structures for reptiles or amphibians.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.
·Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
·The Floating Phase: This aquarium driftwood is naturally buoyant and will float initially. We recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
·Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium.
