This versatile succulent can grow in nearly any soil type, as long as the soil drains well. Avoid planting it where water tends to pool or soil stays wet. For containers, place it in a mix that does not retain too much water and complement it with other low-water plants or succulents.

Once your sedum matures, it needs so supplemental watering, just rainfall. It can tolerate periods of drought. It also needs no fertilizer, performing each summer with no extra food or care. If desired, you can trim the plant, but it likely needs no pruning at all. The only thing that hurts the plant is too much water, or occasionally, a deer.
