3" Bristle Brush - Quick Change Disc

3” Bristle brush quick change discs are abrasive tools used for coating removal. Whether you’re removing rust, paint, oxidation, varnish, surface contaminants, these discs will get the job done.  They are great for deburring, blending, finishing, polishing and cleaning.  Unlike traditional wire brush products, the bristle brushes are a “safer” thick coating removal tool that achieves a consistent finish with light pressure and an undamaged workpiece surface.  A cleaner consistent surface finish allows for better adhesion of subsequent coatings.

Bristle brushes are quite versatile and can be used on most metals.  Suggested uses are listed below in the application section.

·Shank Diameter – R-Type quick change connection

·Grain – Aluminum Oxide (AO)

·Available Grits – 50, 80, 120

·Max RPM – 25,000 (recommended speed for optimal product life is 15,000-25,000 RPM)

Application:

·Ferrous Materials – Cast Iron, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron

·Non-Ferrous Materials – Aluminum, Copper, Zinc alloys, Magnesium 

·50 Grit (green) – best on ferrous metals like Steel

·80 Grit (yellow) – mid range grit for lighter removal on ferrous metals or slightly more aggressive material removal on nonferrous metals 

·120 Grit (white) – best on softer nonferrous metals like aluminum 

Safety Tips:

·Product requires a 3” Type R quick change backing pad to be used

·Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
