I ordered this for under our large Neater dog bowl for our drippy dog! 🐕 It covers a good amount of area so I can turn it vertical or horizontal to catch her drips! It is made of a thick material and matches the bowl perfectly! I think the bowl helps with water but the mat covers a larger area!

Love it. As for purchase was to catch any food or liquid that may spill while my kitten is eating. As kittens are known for (anything could happen) he likes tipping his water over and the mat keeps the water inside. That helps with the cleanup. The mat has four sides to it and the contents is easy to clean up.
