I got this backpack recently after adopting two kittens, I wanted to start training them so I could take them on drives and hikes with me. I also bought their fat cat backpack a few years ago for a cat I used to have and he absolutely loved it so when I saw this new one this time around I had to try it. The boys love their backpack and there’s definitely a lot of room in there for both of them at almost five months old right now, but definitely planning on getting a second one here soon. The only downside in my opinion is that the water bladder pocket is on the inside of the backpack where the cats sit and I am too afraid that they will puncture the bladder through it to give it a try. Still gets 5 stars in my book though for how comfortable it is to wear and how much they love it.

As said in reviews I had read before purchasing, the biggest issue with this backpack is the shipping process. I ordered mine on black Friday, and it was not shipped until December 16th after 2 emails from me. I think I would not have been annoyed if their FAQ did not explicitly say "orders ship from our warehouse in New York within 1-5 business days." Maybe just emphasize that this is a small business and that orders will be shipped as soon as possible or within the month something. That said, Andie was very nice and prompt with responding to my emails. So unfortunately I did not get my backpack in time for my winter travels so have not had the chance to use it. For now I will just leave it out until the next vacation to get my cat used to it. Some points about the backpack itself, I'm a little confused about the bottom platform. It leaves 0.5-1 inch gap between the side walls of the backpack so when we will be hiking I imagine my cat could be jostled off the little fleece platform and end up leaning on the bars that form the structure of the backpack. I'm confused why the fleece was not made to be a little wider. It does come with a plush bed with fluzzy like sherpa cushions all around but the space that isnt the plush outer sides is ridiculously small like my 10 lb short cat cannot even loaf, only sit upright in. Aka it can only fit his bottom and 4 paws. Also because the sides are plush and fuzzy this is not ideal for summer hiking at 75-80°F. I imagine my cat will only like the plush soft cushion when it is 40°F or below. Back to the small black fleece platform at the bottom, this is unvelcroed off to form the bottom panel for when you want to convert it into a normal cat carrier. But again it is very small and absolutely does not fit the length of my 10 lb cat lying horizontally. Also you have to unvelcro it and then set it down on the bottom which would be impossible to do if your cat is already in the carrier so you can't really go from backpack to horizontal car seat easily. Also the opening kind of narrows at the entrance so even laying down my cat will be hunched over (and he is a small cat) I doubt I will ever use it as a converted cat carrier instead of a backpack. I am excited to use it as a hiking backpack though! The water bladder feature was the main selling point for me. Although, like other reviews said, the pocket that holds it is incredibly thin so cat claws could easily poke through and possibly damage your water bladder (my cat likes to climb up the back wall to ride on top of his current backpack) Also the pocket is elastic so depending on how much water you have it can for sure invade the cat space instead of being held in place. I think this can be fixed with stitching a stronger fabric on top of it which I might try to do before my camping trip in the summer. So basically, with this initial annoyance of realizing I will not be able to use it for the trip I had bought it for, the weird removable platform that does not cover the entire bottom, and the thin elastic pocket for holding the water bladder, I am not sure it will be worth the $130 for me.

I recently purchased the Travel Cat backpack and I have to say, it has been a mixed experience. On one hand, the backpack itself is fantastic! The quality is top-notch, and it’s evident that a lot of thought went into the design. Parker absolutely loves it; he feels secure and comfortable, and it has made our outings much more enjoyable. However, the shipping process was quite frustrating. There were significant delays, and I didn’t receive any updates unless I reached out to customer service myself. It would have been helpful to have more proactive communication regarding my order status. Despite the shipping hiccups, I am very happy with the backpack itself, which is why I’m giving it a full 5 stars. The superior quality, thoughtful design, and the joy it brings to Parker far outweigh the shipping issues. It’s stylish, functional, and Parker seems to really enjoy it. If you can handle potential shipping delays, I highly recommend it!

It was tough finding an appropriate backpack for our chunky boy. We wanted him to have room to sit, lay down, and move as needed. The Navigator is sturdy, comfortable for him and for us humans, and gives him plenty of room. My only gripe is with the safety buckles: the interior leash attachment gets tangled around him when he's inside, sometimes choking him or getting wrapped around his leg, so we often don't use it. There's also a metal buckle on the interior front of the bag that bounces around and slaps him in the head while we're walking, so we have to pull it out of the zipper and hang it outside. Otherwise, we like this bag a lot, and so does our boy.

Us and our cat love it! She plays with it in the house and loves popping in and out of it during our walks! Latched zippers are helpful when totally zipped up, so no sudden escapes! And, very comfortable!

Bigger and better designed than the grey version. I am looking at them side by side and it is overall a bit taller and the door is higher up. Perfect for our biggest kitty that was jamming himself into the other cat’s grey pack.

We have been looking for a new backpack for our little boys. They’re two full sized 16lb bengals brothers. They’re active and love adventures with their meowmies. We have trialed many and all have been extremely uncomfortable until we discovered the travel cat backpack. They took on to the new pack immediately and sit in them even on times when we are not on the go. The backpack itself is comfy for me to wear and Lottie enjoys the space. Thank you travel cat! Looking forward to new adventures and the next design for backpacks, if you ever want suggestions on designs I would love to offer a few for improvements.

I got a second Navigator pack after I realized that putting our two cats together in one pack did not go over well with the cats (although their combined weight is 21 lbs). They prefer having their own pack and we are working on little walks around the yard with copious treats, with a goal of longer walks. The packs are super well designed and comfortable to carry. The cats like having many mesh windows although it does require diligence on my part to secure ALL possible exits. Great overall.

I ordered this cat pack 2 months ago on preorder. Reached out and was told it would be longer. Reached out again last week advising that if my package wasn’t on the way than I am requesting a refund. Then got a UPS tracking number July 5. It’s 3 days later and no movement on the package. I can’t review the cat pack because I don’t have it after 2 months. The company doesn’t communicate, isn’t transparent, isn’t understanding. I wouldn’t recommend buying from this company.

I ordered this in May and it’s been over two months and still no backpack. It was NOT back ordered when I placed the order. Estimated ship was well before June 8 as I remember specifically I needed it by then at the latest. I had received an email a month ago saying it’ll ship within two days and it never did. So extremely frustrating as I really did everything to ensure I’d get it in time for my trips and then needed to buy different bags elsewhere last minute. What an awful experience.

The Navigator is the best cat backpack that I have had so far. The amount of window space has made all the difference because my kitten can see while lying down. The pockets are also very well placed with the larger pocket on the driver's side when the backpack is strapped in the seatbelt in the car. I keep a treats container in that pocket and it is easy to reach. But the clips and hooks need improvement. It is essential to snap, zip, and unzip everything quickly when the cat is fuzzy and be able to do it with one hand, and it is not the case with the current version. I ended up fiddling with the clasp on the inside liberating the cat harness and then I had to struggle on the way back to quickly loosen the strap that held up the roll-up window while the kitten was wiggling to get out. Other than that. The Navigator backpack is excellent. I will test it on an airplane this fall. Thank you, Travel Cat!

It’s a great size for my almost 1 year old Mainecoon. He jumped in right away ready to explore. My only concern are the plastic clips and solely because my cat likes to chew on plastic. I’ve had to redirect him and hide the other ones inside his bag for his harness so he doesn’t destroy them. No fault of the bag and really just my cats obsession to chew.

Very excited for this. My cat used to be a suburban street cat before she decided to live in my house, but I recently moved to a city apartment and she misses being outside! This will give her so much more freedom. It's sturdy and comfortable and very well designed
