Same as it ever was. My coffee tasted a bit sweeter; which I enjoyed,. Been fun to try out new recipes with friend's coffees. Cleaning the SS filter is annoying; popping off is messy with having to pick out the SS filter from the spent grounds.

I recently added the AeroPress flow-control filter cap and stainless steel filter to my AP Original. I no longer have to worry about the drips as I steep my coffee, and the filter means that I never have to worry about running out of paper filters. Win-win!

Using the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter rather than Paper Filters adds a significant amount of flavor when brewing your cup of coffee, making it a very worthwhile investment. However using this filter requires a fundamental change in the way you prepare your coffee (upside down brewing). This technique is both challenging and potentially messy. By using the the Flow Control Filter Cap along with the SS Filter you now can use the traditional AeroPress brewing method and enjoy a high quality cup of coffee that maintains the full taste of the coffee you selected. The Flow Control Filter Cap is mess free and easy to use. The design includes both an o-ring and self closing orifice that completely seals the AeroPress brew chamber providing drip free operation. A truly amazing product!

Bought an earlier version of the aeropress flow control filter cap and it leaked so had to return it .I saw they came out with a new improved version with a gasket around the perimeter for the filter to seal, so gave it a try. It seemed to eliminate most of the leaking.The stainless steel filter however does not provide enough resistance/pressure to make a good creama so may try a different brand of SS filter until aeropress makes an improvement. Actually one of the Chinese versions of the flow control systems that I've been using for a few years works better and is half the price. Been using aeropress since 2011 love the product. They have great customer service so wanted to give it a try.

I fell in love with the local, Kahwa coffee in St Pete, FL during an extended stay last month. I bought a bag to bring home and realized I had no drip maker! I heard about Aeropress during my same stay and ordered as soon as I got home. I am a newbie to the system, so I am still experimenting. I have tried every combo of paper filter, stainless steel filter, regular cap, flow control cap….Every cup of coffee I have brewed has been excellent. Process is quick and easy. When I use the paper filter with the regular cap, it pops out cleanly into my compost bin. When I use the flow control cap, the used grounds stick inside the cap. But it’s not a big deal to get them out. Thanks for your review! Here's a tip to help clean up when using a paper filter with your Flow Control Filter Cap: use the end of your stirrer to gently brush the paper filter and remaining grounds out of the cap. Great addition to the Aero Press. I really like the ability to allow the coffee to steep longer with the flow control filter cap. The addition of the stainless filter affords the ability to play with flavor profiles that are more robust than you get with the paper filters alone. I find myself using the Flow control filter cap in place of the original cap ALL THE TIME. You guys really need to offer one that fits the Aero Press XL.

I didn't love the idea of the single-use, disposable filters when I first looked at the AeroPress so I was really glad to see they offered this reusable, metal version. I also really like the Flow Control cap; as an AeroPress novice, I am a little overwhelmed by the amount of variables there are to control and the Flow Control cap helps by reducing the impact that grind size has on your coffee.

Yes it is not a “true espresso”. But for the price and close approximation of an actual espresso I am happy with this kit addition to my aero press. Also it does give you more control over how you choose to brew your perfect cup of coffee. I have been also very much enjoying this aspect of the flow control cap.
