This control filt is easier to screw on. The rubber gasket tightens and loosens with little effort. I reused my old screen and it fit perfectly. I used my paper set up while I waited for delivery and was reminded that the paper has a pour over effect for the first quarter of the water. It still makes good coffee either way.

The flow control filter cap produced a strong cup of coffee and worked in the standard method (Non-inverted). It did not leak during the brewing time. It does take up more space, so you might need to use a deeper cup. I was able to find several recipes similar to my standard, daily recipe (18 g of medium roast beans, 215 grams of water). I preferred the paper filter in this style giving a clean cup that highlighted the beans I use (shout out to Traeger Brothers Mexican Roast). I would like to try a stronger version in line with an Aeropress espresso.

I only use my Aeropress with the flow control cap. This one was purchased on sale as an extra one in case it breaks. I love Aeropress, but this really should be part of the standard items packaged with every Aeropress.

I love that I can pre stir the brew to get all the grind wet without the water dripping through. I use the cap with a metal filter, double bonus!

This will be a complete game changer. No latter how i ground my coffee, the filter alone didnt allow enough “steep” time before i was able to press the water through the grounds. Just tried it and was incredibly happy to habe the grounds steep while i got tue plunger in place. Best cup of coffee yet!
