Ok, you actually only have 2” from center, it doesn’t fit all weed eaters either I had to borrow one bc the screw on my weed eater was too big, it’s poorly constructed, they claim it’s indestructible but it’s really not, I’m 5’10” rounded up) so from the pic you get the idea. Yes those are rivets or a type of but none the less it will rust and eventually fall apart from excessive wear and tear, use or rust. Meaning it’s very possible someone will be hurt. So yes this is cheaply made. If you wanted something this cheap you could wrap wire around the base and place a washer and locking bolt on.
