First of all I’m 76 years young. When I first read the reviews and thought this product is just for the younger set! Boy was I wrong! I’ve used Super A, the cleanser and Vitamin C and I’m hooked. My skin is great a friend recently said “ your skin is glowing! Thanks Mad Hippie!!

I’ve tried this serum for two months and every time I use it my face gets soo red, itchy, swollen and irritated for days after 😭 it’s horrible. Please help, what am I doing wrong? Or is this serum just not meant for me.

Hello! In April 2024 I suffered from a bacterial acne breakout like I had never seen before (big infected pustules.) My derm put me on antibiotics which stopped the bacteria but I was left with bright red marks/PIE some of which I knew would become scars. They were slow to go away. In July 2024, I went to get a laser facial to see if it would help. While there I learned that I couldn't afford the bi weekly laser sessions I would need so the kind esthetician recommended I use a retinol. I said I wasn't interested in tret (my skin is sensitive and I like natural products) and she said there were other OTC retinols out there that would do what I needed. I did a little research and then went to Whole Foods to find this product. I promised myself I would use it for the whole bottle before coming to conclusions and, fast forward from July to Nov, I finished the whole bottle and my skin looks soooo much better. Some of the marks still remain but have faded substantiallly. More than that my overall complexion looks brighter and more glowy. My husband comments all the time how great my skin looks now. And my mom said it took last time I saw her. The serum is also really nice to use because it feels like you are giving your skin real nutrients. Plus the 35 dollar bottle lasted me over 3 months. I love simplicity in my skin care: in the evenings I cleanse my face with a gentle cleanser, apply this serum and let it dry and then add a gentle high quality moisturizer. In the mornings I skip washing and put on a sunscreen. Now that my sensitive skin is adjusted I decided to add in the mad Hippie vit. C in the morning to see how that goes. This is a long review and I wish I could add photos because given time this serum really did help! Would recommend to anyone in their late twenties/early thirties with acne prone skin that is also aging and slower to heal than it used to be.

Been using this for years and love the original. The new formula has made my skin very reactive, no heat tolerance, constant redness and burning. One of the new ingredients must not mesh well for me. Wish I had the option of still getting the original formula that I love and worked great for my skin.

I have sensitive, reactive and silly skin ! I have tried prescription retinoids before and my skin did not like them at all. I have had zero negative reaction only positive . I have been using this 2 months straight every night followed by peptide serum and it’s a game changer . It’s helped with texture, hydration, and dark spots. Mad hippie products have not only turned around my skin from being red, irritated and acne prone to clear and calm, they’ve for real changed how I feel about myself. I no longer wear foundations, powders, cc’s or anything else. I alternate serums and moisturizers, top it off with mad hippie SPF. My skin looks matte, clear and beautiful and I’m good to go.

For reference I am a 54 ears old and had laser resurfacing in April. I was looking for something to enhance the results I got with that procedure. I was nervous about trying this retinol as I have been sensitive in the past to other brands which have left me red, itchy, and swollen. I have been using this nightly for about two weeks with a moisturizer. My skin is already visibly brighter, smoother, and my under eye puffiness is much less!! I am tolerating this without the side effects, making me think that this brand is cleaner and free of chemicals and was not the retinol? I am amazed.

This is my favorite product in the Mad Hippie line. It smells amazing, has wonderful consistency, absorbs easily, and makes my skin look and feel amazing. If I had to choose just one product from the line to use, this would be it.

I have eczema, and my skin is allergic to basically everything. This serum is wonderful - it's gentle and calming, and leaves my face feeling comfortable (as opposed to itchy and on fire like with most facial products, even the ones that are supposed to be for sensitive skin). I'm not so concerned about wrinkles or aging; I just love how this product makes my face stop hurting. I've been using it for over a year, and have never had a bad reaction. I use it sparingly, maybe once a week or so, and I still think it makes a big difference.

I love this Vitamin A serum! It helps me with my anti-aging worries, and my skin is insanely soft. I urge people to speak to their doctor first before taking this advice, but my OBGYN even OKed this while I was pregnant, so that was a HUGE bonus.

I hadn’t heard of Vitamin A, and was intimidated by the thought of it being a chemical exfoliant (sounds frightening!) After using this and feeling my skin after, I’m so glad I tried it. I have sensitive, easily congested skin and my deep, painful breakouts have decreased significantly after adding this into my routine!

This is the only Vit A serum I can tolerate. My skin is very sensitive but is prone to breakouts. This Vit A serum along with the Vit C serum from MH has done wonders for my skin. I can definitely tell that my skin's texture is smoother and my skin appears more radiant and glowing. The Vit A has helped to decrease pore size and diminish fine lines. My breakouts are also decreased after using this for only 3 weeks. I noticed first effects after 1 week but now my skin keeps improving. I think MH helps your skin to heal itself, makes your skin look make-up optional and then if you keep using the products you will notice how great your skin looks all naturally. Love that this contains no artificial anything (fragrance is all natural from the herbal extracts and they use no synthetic preservatives).

I don’t often leave reviews for skin products, because it can be hard to tell if a product is actually improving my skin or if I just like using a new product. However, I decided to give this Vitamin A Serum A try, since I wanted to start incorporating retinol into my skincare routine. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I have already seen a HUGE improvement in my stubborn jaw-line acne! Wow! I haven’t noticed a difference in my wrinkles yet, but I figure it will take longer to see improvements there. Anyway, this is my new favorite product! Definitely will buy again!

So I recently dove into Mad Hippie’s A & C serums... I’ve used the C a whopping total of 3 times, & the A just 2 times non consecutively... I usually like to give a new product 30 days before I judge it but I swear I can already tell a difference. I’m 45, very fair, a CA native with a lifetime of sun exposure despite my best efforts. I’m unable to use most retinol or related products due to skin sensitivity. This Vit A serum does not irritate my sensitive skin & I already feel like my skin is smoother, lighter, smaller pores, brighter. Can’t wait to see additional results.

Well actually I can say more than wow - LOL. Got the Vitamin A & Vitamin C serum, wash face, layer Vitamin A, let dry, layer Vitamin C on top of that, let face dry, then spritz on the Hydrating Nutrient Mist. I just have to say I was looking for products that don't have any of those long words you can't pronounce AND that don't have any sort of preservatives at all, and Mad Hippie was one of the very few places on the entire Internet that I could find such wonderful products. I also use the Face & Eye creams and the bottle of Cream Cleanse to wash face prior. All products are fantastic, naturally smell great, and in just a couple weeks I'm already noticing the fine laugh lines around the eyes are diminishing. I'm truly laughing now without worry! I'm like a LOT of reviewers however that agree WE NEED BIGGER BOTTLES! I don't care how much it costs but I'd be willing to purchase bottles of all products at TWICE the size so I don't have to order so often. Ok, and now off to go order some more these are positively the BEST truly natural products I've ever found - you have a life time customer here that's for sure. Thank you a million times over Mad Hippie, and how about considering changing you name to "Happy Hippie" (LOL)... Mad Hippie was kind enough to send me a couple packets of this as a sample and I'm actually frustrated that it works so well. It's another product that showed instant results. My skin was noticeably smoother and my redness was instantly reduced. I just have to figure out how to pay for every product of theirs that I've loved, which is most of them. Thanks, Mad Hippie, for making incredible products and for being affordable compared to many other natural skincare lines. I wish I was a richer woman so I could just have all of these products in my arsenal forever.
