Installation of this lock was straightforward, and the build quality initially felt very sturdy. However, after 23 months, the unit suffered critical water damage that led to a dangerous overheating issue. Luckily, I received an "overheating" notification or the situation could have been much worse. Upon inspection I found the device hot to the touch and that water had breached the internal components and battery compartment. I had to remove the batteries immediately to prevent a potential fire.
Despite the safety risk, Eufy support declined to assist because the warranty had expired just a few weeks prior. Do your research into this product or any other Eufy product that you are considering. Seach the model number followed by problems and defects. I later learned that water ingress is a known issue with this model. Disappointing customer service for a product that failed in a potentially hazardous way.

Bought this lock while it was Dufy. After the company was sold and the software updated the lock will no longer unlock. It will still lock but not unlock. I gave the company all my proof of purchase but they couldn't even find my purchase in their history. Every time a company like this sells the customers loose. Now I have a lock that is useless because of a software update.

This is far and away the worst lock I have ever owned. It constantly disconnects from wifi, does not work in app half the time, does not unlock through app, does not lock through app, does not connect through app unless via bluetooth, does not update, and lastly will say it is locked in app when it is unlocked. Avoid this "lock" if at all possible.

Used for several months, initially worked great. But then stopped connecting to wifi and won't connect to the app via bluetooth. Tried all of Eufy support's recommendations to correct the issue without success. Support email offered me an $20 anker computer mouse as a "replacement." Now the phone support line states they cannot answer calls and re-directs you to the website.

According to the install manual it should fit all US doors but that was not the case for me. The door would not lock or unlock using the keypad or the finger print reader. I contacted customer service and was told I would have to pay shipping to return it because in their opinion, it is not defective. I would disagree!! $31 to return it and an expensive lesson learned.

Had an older version of this since 2021. That one finally refused to connect to bluetooth or internet. Bought this as a replacement/upgrade. Install was quick as the lock was already in place and the inside plate was an exact match. Setup went as easy as first one.
NOTE: this needs a bridge to connect to the internet to get alerts. This makes for another step in troubleshooting and can be confusing.

-motor seems a bit more powerful

Buit in wifi and long life rechargeable battery gives me less to worry about. This is the second one I purchased and am very happy with the reliability. The finger print reader works pretty well and better than other brand I own. The Eufy products are well built.

Stopped working just after 2 years. I overall love Eufy/Anker products so I'm going to replace it, but with a much cheaper version. Such a shame. Support was great in trying to help, but in the end they couldn't.
