This brush isn’t my favorite, it seems as if my hair is too thick and the bristles aren’t long enough to get through my hair. it could just be me and i grew too much on the pattern styling brush.

This brush is a game-changer for me. I have thick, wavy, and curly hair, so brushing through is difficult, especially when wet and tangled. This brush allows me to brush through my hair without strain and effort. Now, I can evenly distribute products throughout my head in a breeze. I bought a brush for my daughter, and she loves it!

I bought the original Pattern shower brush a couple years ago. It worked amazingly, but started to fall apart last year. I was disappointed it started falling apart so soon, but I kept using the brush because it worked. After not finding another brush that worked better (not even the trendy unbrush), I gifted myself a new Pattern shower brush to kick off 2025… and now the rant. Tracee Ellis Ross cannot possibly tell me that she uses this newer version of the brush. The flexible detangling bristles were replaced with hard plastic spikes fashioned after the spokes on gladiator chariots. Not only are they sharp, but there are more spikes than on the last version of the brush. So many, in fact, that the spikes couldn't glide through my conditioner + water soaked coils. After dragging the brush through the first section of my hair, the spikes scraped at my scalp and I realized my mistake: I trusted that this company, that Tracee herself, cared enough to make good products. The new Pattern shower brush is effectively trash. I love myself (and my natural coily hair) too much to use this. If you are still planning to buy the brush, just go to your trash can and throw your money in. Or, you can look for a shower brush elsewhere.

This is the real deal heavy duty shower brush. Make sure you are putting in the conditioner and detangling products and then using this brush to get the curl definition going and on point! I am loving my Pattern products! I have gotten rid of the majority of my beauty supply hair combs and brushes and replaced them with the Pattern accessories. Love them!
