These had great germination, but once bloomed they are single petal poppies with ruffled edges. I was so looking forward to double ruffle blooms.

None of the seeds I bought worked, not one.
I have asked my local gardening community about it and went over the steps, but we are in agreement that we should have seen a few come out of the shell. They were soaked in water over night and then put into a growing dish. I believe these seeds were just old.

I've grown these for 3 years and every year am impressed with these beauties. In my experience not all of the flowers will be the full, ruffly peony blooms, but the overall affect is so pretty. All annual poppies can be finicky to get seeds to germinate so be patient, and I recommend direct sowing instead of growing indoors and transplanting. I've tried transplanting and the seedlings took weeks to begin growing again.

I was disappointed by these seeds. I grew 11 plants and only one was double (it looked like 'Black Swan'). The other 10 were single breadseed poppies that looked like other varieties available through Botanical Interests such as 'Hungarian Blue', 'Drama Queen' and 'Lauren's Grape'. While those varieties are pretty, they are not what I paid for. I was really looking forward to growing peony poppies. :/ This is not the first time Botanical Interest seeds have disappointed me; I also bought a double stocks mix and all 14 of the plants that I grew from the seeds were single. As for the color of the blooms, 13/14 were the same lavender color and 1 was magenta. I highly recommend not purchasing these two mixes. One seed mix from Botanical Interests that I do highly recommend is the California flower mix. It was gorgeous. And the salpiglossis mix, while difficult to grow, was also stunning.

I had poor germination rate, but the weather was weird this spring so it may not have entirely been the seeds' fault. Only had 4 plants come up. The blooms are beautiful, but none of them are colored-all 4 are white. And half of the plants produced single blooms instead of the ruffly doubles as shown in the photos. I recommend staking them because they bend from the weight of the flowers. The petals fall off after only a couple days so if you're looking for a long-lasting flower, this isn't it.

The seeds germinated well and the plants took a long time to bud and bloom and then the peonies were Hungarian Blue and not the pictured variety.

The seeds had a good germination rate, and the poppies are gorgeous. Alas, they come only in a mauve colour.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that I had to for this seed packet. I had bought this mix earlier in the year because, let's be honest, who wouldn't want poppies with peony-like blooms?! I then came to this website and saw reviews saying that the poppies weren't the same as what was depicted on the packet, so I honestly was expecting to be disappointed with the flowers. Well, the first flowers bloomed and they are BEAUTIFUL, fully double 3-4 inch blooms. I've never seen poppies so beautiful, and I'm sad I didn't start as many seeds earlier. I guess it's not too late for those of us here in Southern California - I'm going to go pick up another seed pack of these from my nursery and plant some more! I hope Botanical Interests will keep selling these seed packets, because I'm hoping to plant these every single year I'm able to garden!!

Package said Peony Poppies but what came up were Shirley Poppies or single junky flowers. They packaged the wrong seeds.
