My cats love this litterbox. My boy Oliver is on the longer side and this is the only litterbox where when he’s in it his face isn’t sticking out of the entrance!

We’ve used the standard size Modkat top entry for several years and have always been happy. We switched to the XL for our new cat. It’s still great, but we find it tough to keep the top lid secure and our cat has knocked it out of place several times.

Our cat crew has rejected multiple covered boxes but seem very happy with how roomy this one is. High side design makes for easier cleaning. Very satisfied!

Just setup the box tonight. Was easy to do, only took a few moments. Was worried if the boys would take to the new box, though they did right away! Was surprised how much litter the XL box can hold! I am currently using the front entry setup, for that’s what they’re used to. May try opening the top entry too. Will see in a month how easy it is to clean?

I already had the smaller version. I bought this as a second litter box to replace another one with a top entry. Modkat litter box are much better than any other on the market.

Purchased as a third litterbox for my two cats. It's well-made, sturdy, and pretty to look at, since it's in the open. Not too heavy. I like that you can have two entryways - I keep both open, since my cats get bathroom aggression sometimes, and the second entry can be a quick exit for the cat. I *don't* use the liners (one cat will refuse to use the box with a liner) and unfortunately there's a lip around the bottom of the box, which collects urine and sometimes does not get covered by the litter. I know this is NOT what the box is designed for, but something to think about if you're also going to forego the liner.

my kitty kick ups liter like crazy so the box contains it well. i leave the lid off for better air flow since the litter is clumping liter

I'm so glad I took a chance on getting the Modkat standard litter box a few years ago! And now that I have two cats the XL is working out wonderfully for them. Great little box system. It's worth the price!!

I love the XL Litter Box but without all the accessories (lid, liners, etc.) My male cat pees very high & I need only the extra high sides so I use the XL Litter Box without any of the accessories. I used to use the Modkat model with the clip-on 'splash-guard'. The sides are high enough but the cat pee seeps up behind the splash-guard & I had to remove it twice daily to clean it. Awkward! I'd rather buy a simplified (cheaper) XL Litter Box with the extra high sides & without all the accessories. (Clarification: I do use the clip-on 'walk-off platform', just not the lid, liners, etc.)

It’s worth the investment! One of our litter boxes is in my office and it the perfect fix ! It’s inconspicuous and nicely designed. Most of all my cats love standing on top of it, going through the top or side, and looking through the sunroof when doing their duty. We love it !

Hi. Purchased three of the medium and love them. One of my cats doesn’t fit in the medium but was hesitant to buy the XL because some of the reviews. However, my experience was that it assembled quickly, the tabs engaged easily, and the top opens and removes easily and quickly. In short-none of the issues that others have identified. Also, customer support is top notch. Will be buying more from ModKat!

I bought this because I have dogs who enjoy cat 💩 snacks. I know TMI but I share this for a reason! I bought the XL box hoping my mega chonker cat would fit through the top access, so I could stop policing the dog “snacks.” And he fits! With room to spare! And the dogs are outta luck. For reference, mine is a 30+ # big boy.

My daughter has two cats and a tight living space. Kitties adjusted to the top entrance easily. There is some litter that still accumulates around the box when they hop out but nothing like before.

Our new 8 pound kitty presented quite a challenge by peeing over the side and back of our sided litter box! I had never seen such a thing until watched her do it. I then researched litter boxes on line and found Modkat. When they mentioned “side peeing” I laughed, then ordered one immediately. I am very happy with it! She used it right away and no more issues. Thank you so much! I truly didn’t know how I was going to remedy the problem.
