I scoured the internet and debated between this bag and a competitor without a water bottle pocket. The product description said this had a “massive water bottle pocket” but in reality, it’s tight and tiny. I could fit a skinny bottled water container and that’s it. I attempted to expand the elastic to accommodate a bigger bottle with mediocre results, so unfortunately can’t return it either. Besides the disappointing water bottle pocket, the bag is solid and well made. Functional and sleek. Make sure you are aware of your water bottle expectations before ordering.

I brought the first two of these for me and my wife before going on a round the world trip. We love them so much we bought them for our 2 kids who are about to go on a hosteling trip in Europe. Highly recommend.

Everything is great about the pack except for the exterior water bottle holder. We have half a dozen water bottles we use daily and none of them will fit in the holder. The elastic neck is too small for them to go into the mesh holder. Can only get a small flexible plastic water bottle in the holder. You advertise it as a “massive” water bottle holder. It is not! Would have bought a different brand backpack if I had known this. J. K.

So far it's been a great 28L bag. Seems durable, well designed compartments. It replaces my 6(?) Yr old Timbuk2 Jet 30L bag (discontinued model) which was about $50 more expensive but they seem comparable in quality. I also like that they're based out of Seal Beach as im also in the OC area.
