It's a bed alright. It's best feature is that it folds making it very portable for people who live in apartments and move around. I got a full and it's still much lighter than my heavy-ahh twin that's still sitting in my apartment because it's too heavy and big, imagine having to move that thing apartment to apartment. Of course because it's foldable it has to be relatively thin, so I'm ordering another to get the full 8 inches but it's affordable compared to others I've seen so I don't mind.
