Guide to Common Spray Painting Problems, Causes, and Solutions
During spray painting operations, operators often encounter various issues that affect the painting effect and quality. Here is a detailed guide to spray painting problems to help you quickly identify issues, determine their causes, and take appropriate corrective actions.
A. Low or No Material Flow
Causes: Clogged nozzle, clogged suction tube, excessively large material volume setting (shifted too far to the right), loose suction tube, overly thick material, inconsistent paint, loose container.
Solutions: Clean the nozzle and suction tube, adjust to the left, insert properly, check viscosity, filter the paint, tighten the container.
B. Material Leakage
Causes: Loose nozzle, worn nozzle, worn nozzle seal, material buildup on the spray pattern disc and nozzle.
Solutions: Tighten the nozzle, replace the nozzle and nozzle seal, clean the material buildup.
C. Coarse Atomization
Causes: Excessively high material viscosity, excessively large material volume, clogged nozzle, insufficient pressure buildup in the container.
Solutions: Dilute the material, adjust to the right, clean the nozzle, tighten the container.
D. Spray Jet Bouncing
Causes: Material in the container is nearly depleted, overly thick material.
Solutions: Refill the material, check and adjust the material viscosity.
E. Pattern Distortion or Sagging
Causes: Excessive spray painting material.
Solutions: Adjust the material flow rate or increase the spray gun's movement speed.
F. Overspray
Causes: The spray gun is too far from the painted object, excessive spray painting material.
Solutions: Shorten the distance, adjust the material volume setting to the right.
G. Light and Discontinuous Pattern
Causes: The spray gun is moving too fast.
Solutions: Adjust the material flow rate or reduce the spray gun's movement speed.
H. Excessive Paint Mist
Causes: The spray gun is too close to the surface.
Solutions: Move the spray gun away from the surface and reduce the paint flow.
With this guide, you can more effectively address various issues that arise during the spray painting process, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality painting results. We hope this guide will be a valuable assistant in your spray painting work!
