I am a long time Wusthof owner. A friend is learning to cook and upgraded her cookware for Christmas. I wanted to help to that end by giving her a quality knife and ordered something that I think she will use. Ordering was easy. Shipped at stated. Happy until I opened the shipping box. The package was dirty. I opened the box to make sure the knife was in decent shape and even on the inside there was a black substance. I had to clean the knife and the packaging before I wrapped it. I am a fan of Wusthof, Zeilling, Enso and a variety of mfg's and I dont know that I have ever been sent or picked up a boxed knife that looked like it had been dragger around the warehouse floor. Almost gave you lower rating.

My roommate brought me back a full set of Wusthof knives back in 1983. I'm still using them today and I just purchased the 6-in chef knife. A great addition to my collection. If you take care of these knives, keep them sharp. Don't put them in the dishwasher, they will last forever. The best quality knives on the market for over 50 years on my end.

We’ve used Cutco, Chicago Cutlery and a few other knives in our kitchen but honestly, have never found a knife as well balanced, hand fitting and sharp as this Chefs Knife! It actually glides through fruits and vegetables and effortlessly slices meat! Great purchase!
