I prefer creamy thermo protection as it gives me more confidence that my hair will be less damaged. The product can feel sticky for sure, but you need time to blow dry to make sure to get rid of the stickiness. Would buy again

I will have to test this out over the summer but for now this is a nice base layer to cut the frizz out of my wavy hair. I use about 10 pumps worth and think it's enough for my hair that is medium fullness and past my shoulders.

I had no idea my beloved Park Ave. Blow Out Balm had been discontinued until I went to by a new tube this week. The only R + Co. product that seemed to function similarly was this one. Hot Spell was suggested as a replacement for Park Ave in the Q&A so I bought it. It is definitely not an adequate dupe for Park Ave. First, and I can't believe I'm saying this, the scent is terrible, which is a first for any R+Co. product I've ever used. But more importantly, it just doesn't serve the same purpose. It has significantly less hold than Park Ave. My hair feels more coarse (and it's not coarse to begin with!) with Hot Spell and it seems frizzier and has more static as well. Overall, big disappointment!

I really like that this heat protectant is a thicker oil that you work into your ends but it comes in a pump bottle. I always hate the oils that come in a bottle you have to pour from, so this was a great find. Makes my hair brush out easier as I blow dry. Definitely recommend!

The balm has a nice texture to it, not too heavy but still works into the hair easy. Definitely provides great heat protection when I’m using my dryer. My hair is softer after blow dry and stays that way the next day too.
