This light illuminates any room in my home when there is a power outage. My general contractor has used mine while making repairs in the dark attic . The light easily attaches to clothing and can be hung freeing up hands to work on projects. I ordered this one as a gift for him.

We have two of these lanterns that we use infrequently. We recently had a power outage and we found a use for these other than camping. It had probably been over a year, maybe two since the batteries had been charged. Hope was realized when the lanterns glowed in full power for about an hour. The electricity was still out so I connected the lanterns to a power pack until the power resumed. I recommend these units.

I love to give Barebones lights as gifts in addition to stocking up on them myself, and I've noticed that of all the types of lights and lanterns I've given over the years, THIS light seems to be the hands-down favorite of all my family and friends. The Beacon Hanging Light is small and portable, can hang on a branch or hook or stand upright on its own, and having the charging cord attached but easy-to-tuck-away is brilliant. Its smaller size and light weight makes it easy to keep handy, and it seems to hold its charge for a LONG time - it's a universal favorite for good reason. Now that Barebones has added a variety of colors, it gave me an excuse to give a few more as gifts! I love these.
