·The DEWALT DCB612 is a FLEXVOLT auto-switching lithium-ion battery pack. When used with 60V MAX tools, it delivers 60V MAX (54V nominal) 12.0Ah; when used with 20V MAX tools, it delivers 20V MAX (18V nominal) 36.0Ah — the same battery automatically switches voltage based on the tool. It is compatible with all DEWALT 60V MAX and 20V MAX platform tools (e.g. 60V chainsaws, 20V hammer drills). Before first use, fully charge it with a compatible charger such as DCB1106, DCB1112, or DCB118 — lithium-ion batteries have no memory effect, so no activation cycle is needed. To install, ensure the tool switch is off, align the battery rails with the tool handle slot and push until it clicks into place; press the release buttons to remove. Tap the fuel gauge button on top to check charge level via the 4-segment LED indicator (4 solid LEDs = 75%-100%, 1 flashing = below 10%). The built-in BMS provides automatic power cutoff under overload, high temperature (>70°C), or low temperature (<-20°C) conditions. Charge within 4°C-40°C ambient temperature, ideally at 20°C-25°C. For long-term storage, keep the battery at 40%-60% charge in a dry, cool place and check charge level every 3-6 months. Rated energy is 648 Wh, which far exceeds the 100 Wh threshold; air transport requires IATA Class 9 dangerous goods declaration and may be restricted by the 160 Wh per-package limit.
