We live in the country and have livestock on the property. While it is just a general home we do have rodent issues due to the livestock. We actually hired a professional exterminator company last January. Their attempts have been miserable at best. They use the newer black plastic snap traps. In the first 7 months they were able to catch one rat. After 10 months of just one trapping I decided to use these sticky traps. It took about 2 weeks to finally catch one rat. Then after removal and replacing with a second sticky trap, we caught 2 more on this second trap. Funny thing is, they rats would crawl over the snap trap to reach the sticky trap. I have posted a video of one doing just that. These sticky traps are very effective. When they show a picture of a weight hanging from the trap, I am telling you to believe it to be true. They are incredibly sticky. There was something saying that the traps were scented to attract the rodents but I could not determine if that is true. As to how durable they are, well, they are flimsy at best and a rat flailing around could cause the trap to wander and turn over. So, with that in mind I secured the trap to a piece of wood and it handled things well. With a dozen in the box they are well worth the price. I have to say that these are so much better than those snap traps that the professional are using... Save thousands and get these and do it yourself.
