Beware! This game is so much fun! The more the merrier! We laughed so hard we fell over sideways… or maybe it was all the sipping?

I had some family over for the evening and asked if they were interested in trying out a new game.
Because the game comes from the makers of Exploding Kittens I know better than to doubt their knack for fun game ideas and yet... I was skeptical.
I told them it was a drinking game but we would drink non-alcoholic beverages.
As we sat around the table and I read the rules aloud. The rules themselves are super easy and a really short read. Likewise the setup was quick and easy.
Oh my gosh, the game was a hoot. We were laughing at each other and at our selves. The fun really begins when you are forced to draw a card and certain rules will be applied that you must follow until that rule is superceded by another card. Which is good because some rules are annoyingly funny (make a heavy lifting grunting noises every time you take a sip, use only your non dominate hand, make a toast to some historic figure each time before you speak, stand for the entire game, are just some of the rules that maybe placed on you) and yet if you get too many cards, you lose, which is bad.
Part of the fun is enforcing the rules upon your fellow players lest they forget during the ensuing chaos . You see, if they fail to follow the rules, they must take an additional sip. And sip they must.
What we liked is the simplicity of the game and how anyone, at anytime can spin the spinner to try and control the game but likewise anyone can stop the spinner and affect the outcome.
It gives everyone a sense of control but in reality there is a bit of randomness.
Because anyone can stop the spinner at anytime during the spin, multiple will attempt to stop it simultaneously. This is actually allowed and adds to the fun factor. Now all players involved perform the actions on the spinner. Drawing cards, giving out cards, taking sips, forcing others to take sips.
Things quickly escalate and people forget to follow their specific rules and you get to point out "Hey you made eye contact, you take a sip" or "you are showing your teeth, sip sip my good sir, sip sip" or "You forgot to speak in third person, I believe you are required to take a sip", "That accent isn't convincing enough, a show of hands, should they take a sip?"
Most rounds are pretty quick and while there is no real negative for losing (by collecting three cards) I am thinking we could come up with something... like having to sip vinegar.
Other house rules we may implement is having the max card limit you can hold to 4 or 5, and making players have to follow two rules instead of just one.
There were only 4 of us playing, but up to 8 can participate. I can see that just increasing the fun factor. While our beverages were non-alcohol based I can see adding beer or margaritas would of course make this a blas and quite challenging , just remember a sip is not a shot... just a teensy sip.
We highly recommend you add this to game night. EVERYONE was laughing and having a good time. What's more, adults and kids can play it with some modifications of course (There are several cards you would want to remove from the deck when playing with underage players. And of course no alcohol.)
We are looking forward to next time and adding some more people to the mix.
Exploding Kittens have done it again. Great game, great fun.

It’s fine if you need something to do while drinking. When we played it didn’t seem like a very fun way to spend time as opposed to other drinking games using your phone. I wouldn’t spend money for this.

Reminds me of kings cup but with simpler rules and the added element of a spinning top. This was a lot of fun to play. The cards were the best part. Can't wait to get a group to play again.

Really good for parties with adult beverages, or when you're sleep deprived with your friends at 4 am after binging all the lord of the rings movies.

Fun game. My daughter liked it and has claimed it so she can play with her friends.

It’s fine for what it is. If a bunch of adults want to drink this will work. For everyone else it’s a niche thing.

My friends and I had a great time playing this. We were a little confused on the whole spinning mechanic at first, but once we figured that out, we were good to go. Lots of laughs and lots of drinks were had.

Very simple game to play, and a lot of fun for a family friendly game night or a group over 21.
Spin, stop, and see who needs to drink!
In a single game my family each got through a bottle and a half of water, and we enjoyed every second!

Grab a favorite beverage.
Grab the game and get ready for some laughs.
We learned quickly the size of the sip matters.

I thought it was a fun game and easy to play with kids drinking water or juice, teens with soda or adults with adult beverages. It kind of got old quickly though. There’s not much to winning. I feel like the idea of the game is good, the gameplay is good, but how the winner is determined kind of is a let down after all the fun during it. Maybe, once someone wins, they get to dictate who does what for a round between drinks, or something that to keep the game going and make the winners spot something you want.

This was not my favorite EK game. The premise is enticing - a drinking game to be played with a group of friends with the added challenge of strategy. But the rules of how to play the cards and anyone being able to stop the spinner did not make sense (and even less so as the game goes on). We ended up just using the spinner and making our own rules.

We had a blast playing this game. Of course we elected to use alcoholic beverages which may have contributed to our enjoyment. We felt the chances of getting a card needed to be greater. We kept landing on “take a sip” and the giant stack of cards remained untouched. We felt the cards were the best part of ten game with such ridiculous requirements as “smell your fingers every time you finish a sentence.”
We ended up taeaking the rules, making the 1 sip spots card spots. And we decided it was more fun to leave thr cards face up, adding onto the ridiculous requirements. Isn’t it more fun to have to smell your fingers AND say, “eh”, at the end of each sentence instead of just doing one of those things?
I feel this game could have used some more improvements in testing. But, I suspect all of the testers were so wasted by the end that no useful criticism was received!
