My first indoor seed starts of the year are officially underway!!! I’m in Zone 7b, and I've heard peppers are slow growers. So I'm starting them early indoors gives them the time (and warmth) they need before spring really kicks in. This season is all about experimenting, learning as I go, and building confidence one tray at a time. On the menu: habaneros (exclusively to give to my mom to make me African food even tho it’s not scotch bonnet but I don’t care), cayenne, and serranos. Cubanelle and marconis. California wonders, big reds, and rainbow bells. And jalapeños and poblanos. The price of the Amy’s poblano enchiladas are getting ridiculous so it’s about time I get my own going ok! The seed mix is coast of Maine. I had good results with their tomato soil last year so why not try the seed starter. Only had to pluck out a couple of twigs here and there. I’m using seed starter trays gifted from @VIVOSUN US to keep things warm, consistent, and beginner-friendly. Next up: germination checks, tiny sprouts, and seeing what actually works.
