While I love my Britt utility work pants, I have issues with the width of the legs. I normally wear a size 16 with knee pad inserts. But I found the leg width to be too restrictive so I ordered a size 18 thinking it might have slightly wider legs. The pants were still too tight around my knees while kneeling with knee pads. And I was starting to have serious knee pain. So I added a 1-3/4” insert in the inner legs. It runs from the cuff up to inner thigh “v”. What an amazing difference that made! Honestly the my new leg width looks more like a traditional straight leg pant than the original!

Women know women's bodies, and these women designed these pants using that knowledge very well...Nice job!! The stretch and weight of the material is perfect, and they are forgiving to blend any flaws in the body. I love the wider width in the lower leg...functional and stylish, and the overall comfort level is awesome. They fit true to size. These are one of the best pants I've ever owned!

I ordered these pants in 10x32, knowing my inseam length is 34, but Dovetail has been sold out of that inseam in size 10 for what feels like ages. I just wanted to see if I’d like the fit, and I loved them aside from them being too short. I had to return them. I have the Freshley overalls in 12x34 in grey and ADORE them (but wish they made them in black). The size 10 in these pants fit me best, but the 32 inseam is just too short. I’m a ski lift mechanic and black is just a superior color to wear for work, we get so filthy and greasy. More Freshley overalls in black and more of these pants in 10x34 please!!!

If you are on the fence, just BUY THESE. I got a size 4, I'm about 5ft and 115lbs for reference. They fit like a perfect loose workpant. I think I could go size 2 for a tighter fit and it would still be comfortable but I wanted a baggier look to match my husband (LOL!) The pockets are HUGE and are so great for holding all my tools in the garden and around the house. The waistband is stretchy enough to move with me, even on my bloated days. Dovetail, can you please send me a million of these???? These are not cheap but you get what you pay for! These are such great quality, so comfortable AND they look great. Thank you for making these with the the interests of working women in mind.

The size guide measurements was not helpful here. I'm typically a size 16 but has to size up to an 18. Even then, the fit was just off - waist loose, legs tight at weird spots.

These are extremely comfortable and extremely tough pants, with enough pockets for all your needs. The degree of comfort is surprising in fabric this tough. I am happy Dovetail makes smaller sizes, too, since they are increasingly hard to find. The waist in the size 4 does gap on me, but a belt will fix that and since they are not low rise pants, it isn't a big issue. I mention it in case it is an issue for anyone else. I am 5'5" and 120 lbs.

Have been my favorite pants for warehouse work the past 4 years! Because the quality, you can’t beat! And they have my size in waist AND length!!!! I’m slim and have long legs so I have trouble finding good work pants that fit and aren’t like trash bags on me! 5 STARS I’m 5’5.5 104lbs 000/34

Let me start with I usually live in yoga pants or sweats. However, new job requires getting dirty and bugs bite through thin pants. So, my Canada friends fill me in on this awesome brand and I have these pants a go. I sized up because I hate anything digging into my waist, and I found them to be super comfortable and more stretchy than I was expecting! I could probably get away with my actual size (4), but I’m stoked with what I got. Love the pockets, love the stretch. Doesn’t feel limiting and the quality is really nice. I’ll be buying more!

Love these pants! I also have the thermal lined grey Britt utility. Both are amazing. I’m very picky about jeans/pants and how they fit and have no complaints with either. It’s not easy finding women’s pants that are fitting yet moveable, but Dovetail did a great job with these. And on a side note, I often get compliments from other women saying they like my pants and ask where I got them. Friends of mine have ordered them after seeing mine and love them as well. I work carpentry/construction and they’ve held up VERY well for what they’ve been put through. Definitely my favorite work pant I’ve found so far and just about to order more.

I measured my waist at 33” and bought this pant in a 10. It was too big. Then I purchased it in an 8 and it fits perfect. So to me the size chart seems off.

These pants are ok. I did keep them because no other colors in stock and ordered the gray also which I love! The fit on these are not like the other colors. They are a bit sloppy in legs and waist and had to size down 1 size to fit better, hoping they shrink even more when washed. Seem nice and heavy and hoping they hold up for work! Fit is my biggest issue with these pants otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

My closet consists of: 6 Britt Utility, 2 Britt X Ultra Light, 2 Britt Utility Thermal, Britt X, 3 Maven Slim, Maven Thermal, Maven X, 2 Christa DIY, 3 Freshley Thermal, a pair of shorts and who knows what else. What size do I wear? A 12. Now... I KNOW I haven't dropped a full two sizes... but suddenly I wear an 8 in Dovetail. As a person who has to purchase online, the inconsistent sizing has been a huge problem. Dovetail has a decent return policy, but time and money is lost with each exchange. If I choose to order again, I'll factor the return price into the cost, order three sizes, intend to keep one and return the other two. It will be a burden, but so is being disappointed in my favorite brand.
