I bought an 2XL the first time and it was to big. The second time I bought an XL and it fit just right. I decided to get 3 more in XL and when I received it was to big but labeled XL. No consistency in the size.

I got this style along with two others- the Bikini cut and the Thong cut. Immediately upon unwrapping the Boyshort and the Bikini, the very first thought I had was "oh my god, these are diapers." I put them aside and told myself I'd return them, but of course life goes by so fast and before I knew it, my return window passed. Since I was now stuck with them, I decided to give them a go rather than let first impressions sway me. I'd made good use of the Thong style by that point, at least, so maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised by the Boyshort and Bikini styles. All-in-all, I think my star rating speaks for itself. The rise/cut of the Boyshort style on the body isn't quite as offputting as it is laid out flat (though it did leave me wondering "wow, is my butt REALLY this big??"), but there are some foundational flaws that are more concerning. The site listing claims that one pair of underwear absorbs "4 tampons worth of flow", and while I don't doubt that the entirety of the absorbent section CAN hold that much, it seems extremely unlikely that it ever WILL. I tend to menstruate in a fairly constrained area, which usually means about half of a standard pad is clear of blood when it's time to throw it away. When it comes to the Boyshort (and Bikini) Period, this means that the way I bleed overwhelms that area. Rather than the rest of the absorbent material wicking away that flow, it builds until there is obvious wetness sitting on top of the underwear fabric and, therefore, pressing directly against my skin. It isn't very long before this blood starts to smell since it's exposed to air, which leads to an incredibly unpleasant experience all-around. Because of this and because this issue is present in the three different styles of Period underwear I've tried, I can't really recommend wearing any of these out and about day-to-day. My personal flow can wax and wane throughout the course of a day, and I can't imagine the pain of having to walk around with that full pad/wet swimsuit feeling while I'm stuck at work or on errands for multiple hours when my flow has decided to get a little heavier than I'm prepared for. Even if you did bring a change of underwear, where are you going to keep a pair of wet, bloody underwear until you can get home? And finally..... they're loud. The Boyshort and Bikini styles both have a particular sound to them that really doesn't help with the "this is a diaper" feeling I got upon first opening my package from Period. The Thong doesn't have this problem, so it likely has to do with the sheer amount of absorbent material in the other two styles. I would accept this tradeoff.... IF the two styles with higher coverage ACTUALLY absorbed flow the way they claim to absorb flow. Overall, I just don't think I can recommend the Period Company products, at least not the microfiber items. Maybe these problems are addressed or not as major with the cotton items, but I can't see myself making another purchase just to find out and compare. If anyone is interested, I will say they've been helpful for addressing overnight flow fairly comfortably, especially since I tend to move around in my sleep and bleed at the very edges of pads. I will continue to use these pairs of underwear for that purpose. But if you're looking for period underwear to get you through your work day or for any sort of activity that you anticipate taking a while (like hiking/etc), I'd say avoid these.

The sizing is extremely inconsistent with this brand. I wear an XL in the heavy flow sporty stretch & the thong. I bought these from Walmart in an XL and they are so tight I had to double check the right size was in the right box. They dig into my legs. I had this problem before with a cotton medium flow brief, but these are so tight. I understand different materials have a different degree of stretch, but maybe slightly adjust the leg opening material or something. I can’t even wear them. I love the affordability of this brand and I will keep buying. I’m just disappointed.

I love this style. I like to wear them at night mostly or lazy days around the house because they are comfortable enough to wear alone as bottoms. I just hope you get more sizes in soon because I need more!

Definitely going to need more of these! Love the boy short style! Aaand it’s the only one that wasn’t sold out of other colors so I got it in mauve. My others are all black. It’s silly but it makes me like them even more. Super comfy! I wouldn’t use these with the reusable pads though, it wasn’t as comfy that way.

These are amazing. So soft and comfy. I have used the cotton boxers and loved them but the elastic tended to irritate a bit after a while. These have a soft fabric waist band and it is very comfortable. They are so cozy I'll even wear them on non period days.

These are great and work as well as Period. claims! I have never used period undies before so it took a bit of getting adjusted to the bulkier underwear and the feeling of it, but I can already tell I’m going to be a long time user of these. Great quality in the material and seams. Love that I’m reducing waste and saving money by not purchasing disposable period products. Definitely recommend these!
