As a gardener, I'm thrilled to share my experience with Garden in Minutes raised beds, which have transformed my gardening journey. With the scorching heat wave, my cosmos, zinnias, and pumpkins are thriving in their new home. The bed was so simple to assemble and with some extra set of hands it was assembled in no time! All pieced were included and the tools that was required. Here are two paragraphs on the grid watering system: The Garden Grid watering system is a game-changer for gardeners, especially during scorching heat waves. This innovative system allows for efficient and precise watering, ensuring that every seedling receives the right amount of moisture. The grid design enables water to flow evenly, reaching every plant without wasting a single drop. This targeted approach prevents overwatering, which can be detrimental to young seedlings. During a heat wave, the Garden Grid™️ watering system is a lifesaver. It allows me to water my seedlings quickly and easily, even when time is of the essence. In just minutes, I can provide my plants with the hydration they need to thrive. This system has been a revelation, especially for my cosmos, zinnias, and pumpkins, which are now flourishing despite the sweltering temperatures. With the Garden Grid, I can rest assured that my seedlings are receiving the perfect amount of water, exactly when they need it.

Just installed the first of two raised garden bundles. Product looks very well designed and built. Assembly was easy with good instructions. Product arrived without damage. I really like the look, as I am replacing a couple of block and plank raised beds.

They are all set up and ready to connect. You really need stamina to put them together. There are many parts, but with patience, it all comes together nicely.

In 2015 my husband built me a wood raised garden area, 20 x 20 ft square with beds being 4 ft deep. It is fully fenced and gated. In the middle was a 4x4 separate bed. We bought the 4x8 All-In-One bundle to replace the separate bed, to give more gardening space. The garden grid watering system is by far the best! We have since purchased several others to replace less efficient irrigation.

Love that I was able to get the water grid and raised bed as one bundle. Nothing I had to figure out. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The water grid is smartly constructed and it was easy to connect to my backyard hose. Highly recommend!

Sturdy beds, easy to assemble. They look like they’ll last a long time. We got everything we needed to connect the irrigation in four beds and only had to hook it up to the hose. Each bed took about an hour from start to finish.

Love it! I couldn't wait to get it assembled which took a couple of hours. Just as described and easy to follow instructions. I do wish they had the suggestion of wearing gloves at the beginning of the instructions!

Firstly, I got more for my money purchasing this garden bed through Garden In Minutes than most of the stuff I saw on Amazon. I go the 4x4 w/watering system. Super fast delivery. Arrived in 4 business days. Assembly by myself took roughly about a half hour. All hardware was included with simple instructions. The material feels sturdy and I like the protective finish on the metal. Looking forward to my first growing season NOT in a bunch of pots.

I just received my 2x10 bundle and put it all together yesterday. It was easy to put together and is good quality. I’m very happy with how it’s turned out and I love the garden grid. I’ll be changing all my drip in my raised beds over to the garden grid. 5 stars. Great product. Thank you!

We assembled our beds last weekend, which was fairly straightforward. The plants seem to love the Garden Grid watering system and this is the happiest I've seen plants after transplanting. I've been telling everyone about this system, I wish I would have known about it years ago!

Carrots come in dozens of colors & sizes. They’re also able to tolerate a wide range of temps from freezing to warm, making them ideal to grow during fall, spring, & winter. 🥕 Depending on your growing zone, there are different times of the year when you can safely plant carrots seeds outdoors. The closer to winter that you decide to plant, the more attentive you will need to be for unexpected freezes if your carrots are still seedlings though. If you just missed your date range or want to plant further into the cold seasons, adding a covering can help. We have an old video of how to DIY this on our blog - it still holds up though 👌 🥕 Carrot Planting Date Ranges By Growing Zones Zone 3: Early June to Mid-August Zone 4: Late May to Early September Zone 5: Mid-May to Mid-June | Late August to Late September Zone 6: Early May to Late June | Early September to Mid-October Zone 7: Early April to Late May | Mid-September to Late October Zone 8: Late March to Mid-May | Late September to Mid-November Zone 9: Late February to Early May | Mid-October to Early December Zones 10 & 11: Late October to Late February PLANTING 🥕 Carrots are grown 12-16 plants per Garden Grid™ watering system square. Seeds only need to be planted 1/4″ deep & thrive in loose soil, making carrots ideal for raised garden beds. Carrots prefer mild to cold weather to mature (40 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit soil temp), but they can withstand prolonged frost as they approach maturity. 🥕 You can keep your garden’s soil temperature warmer by keeping it moist & mulched. Here are some additional garden frost management tips to keep your plants growing through the cold. 🥕 WATERING 💧 Seeds & seedlings, water daily until established (here are tips on that). Mature plants water often enough to keep the soil moist ~2″ below the surface. Carrots do best in moderate to full sun, so make sure they’re grown in an area that has 6+ hours of sun exposure per day. 🥕 HARVEST Most varieties are ready to harvest 50-80 days after planting seeds. For a simple test to check, dig around the top and see if they’re at least the diameter of a quarter. If they are, they’re probably ready to pull 👩‍🌾 #gimgardens #gardening #growingcarrots #gardengrid #raisedgardenbeds

🌱ABOUT THE INFO + MORE DETAIL🌱 If you grow eggplant and try to stretch your growing season you will eventually notice that production will slow. This isn’t because the plant is dying. Instead, it’s likely going into a conservation phase. Eggplant can be grown as a perennial, meaning you can grow and harvest from it for years. Most people will see in-season fruit production noticeably slow after 3 years though. Despite this, in the off-season (aka, colder times of the year) your eggplant will stop growing as well, even if it has many years of life left. This is because it’s sensitive to cold weather. Eggplant prefers soil temperatures in the 70s and 80s. If your soil temperature dips to 60, this sends a signal to the plant to conserve. Essentially, it’s afraid it may die from cold weather, or any seeds from the fruit it drops won’t be able to germinate in the cooler weather. (Most seeds like warm temperatures to germinate). If you see this happening and know that you will continue to get cooler weather for an extended time (even here in Orlando, January and February will have nights consistently in the 50s and sometimes 40s and 30s), you’ll want to overwinter your eggplant. Overwintering involves removing all of the fruit and flowers and pruning the plant back to have about 3-4 main stems. You may also start to see that any remaining fruit is getting wrinkly or turning yellow. You’ll notice one of our eggplant in the video is a yellow color, that means it sat on the vine too long and is technically overripe and probably very seedy. If you don’t get freezing weather, just leave the plant in your garden and it will start growing when the temperatures are right. If you do get freezing weather, carefully dig it up, pot it, and bring it inside where it can stay warm, while still getting light. When temperatures outside warm up, replant it in your garden to start its next season of growth. #gardening #gimgardens #raisedbedgardening #gardening101 #gardentok

🌱MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE VIDEO: Last year I harvested 73 okra & 14 eggplants in one day! Here’s why that was a mistake 🤔 Stagger planting, aka succession planting, is the process of spreading out the planting of a crop that way you can harvest it over time instead of all at once and it also helps reduce pest and disease risks by having your plants in different stages of growth. If a recent planting is hurt by pests or disease you can hold off your next round of planting until the issue is resolved or you can find a more suitable location. I succession planted my 16 okra plants and 7 Eggplants in 2023 and the production was incredible! They were my best-producing crops of 2023. However, I stagger planted too closely together. I planted new plants every week/week and a half, leading to the huge single-day harvest numbers above. This would be fine if I had a larger family to eat all of that while it was fresh, but I don’t. So, many friends got eggplant and okra while I harvested them throughout late summer and fall. What I should have done instead and what I plan to do for 2024 is succession plant based on my expected rate of consumption. Aka, how many will my family and I actually eat in a given week. A few eggplants and a few dozen okra a week are plenty for my family to enjoy. So, planting every 2-3 weeks would be more suited to that if I grow the same amount of plants this year. 👀 If you got this far… comment ‘STAGGER’ and what you’re planning to stagger plant in your garden this year to share some garden inspiration for other people 👨‍🌾 #gardening #gardening101 #gardeningtips #homegarden #gardentok

🌱 More Info ⬇️ 📏Tray Size There are many tray options, some of the most common ones have 1.5″ wide cells for seedlings, & some can be as large as 2.5″. Larger cells allow for more root space for plant development, meaning the seedling can stay in the tray longer. Smaller cells let you start more seedlings in less space, but they of course have less room for roots so they need to be transplanted sooner. As a general guide, after your seeds germinate they can grow in smaller (1.5″ cell trays) for about 2-3 weeks, in larger 2″ trays they can grow in them for about 3-4 weeks before needing to be transplanted. 💪 Hardening Off When it’s nearing time to transplant seedlings, if your seedlings weren’t started & growing outside already, you want to go through a process called hardening off. Hardening off is the process of progressively bringing seedlings outside so they can acclimate to direct sunlight, wind, & fluctuating temperatures. Bring the seedlings outside for a few hours the first day, then back inside, then a little longer the next day, & repeat for about a few days to a week until you eventually leave them outside permanently. Only do this if your climate is right for the plant though. Snow & tomatoes won’t mix, no matter how much you try 🙂 👨‍🌾 Transplanting When it’s time to transplant, wet your seedling tray soil & your garden’s soil. This makes the soil stickier. It holds together better when removing the seedling from the tray & when making a hole in the soil in your garden bed for the plant to go into. Gently push up from the bottom of the seed tray to pop the seedling out. Be delicate & do your best to keep all of the roots intact & the seedling undamaged. Place the seedlings into the holes you dug in your garden bed & backfill soil around them, gently pushing down to make sure there aren’t air pockets around the roots. 💧 Watering Then, water them consistently making sure the top few inches of soil stay moist for the roots to establish themselves. Once established (you can see visible growth) you can cut back water to a standard schedule. A general guide for this is to ensure your soil keeps some moisture 2″ below the surface. #gardening #gardens #seedlings #transplanting #gardengrid

🌱 MORE DETAILS👇 If you don’t have a hose spigot near enough to your garden, can you connect Garden Grids™ to your sprinkler or irrigation system, instead? Yes, you just need something to thread the Garden Grid’s hose connector onto. However, there’s one very important nuance to this… thread types. . Typically a Garden Grid™ or a Garden Grid™ Manifold would attach to a garden hose coming from your hose spigot. Garden hoses and hose spigots all use what’s called garden hose thread. . In the world of irrigation/sprinkler system connectors though, you will come across two types of threads when trying to add a connector to supply water to other things. Those two thread types are garden hose thread and pipe thread. . Garden hose thread and pipe thread look similar, but they are not the same. If you try to connect something with pipe thread to a garden hose, The Garden Grid™, or a Garden Grid™ Manifold, it won’t work. . You may be able to partially connect one to the other. This won’t create a good seal though, even if you use pipe tape (which you don’t need to do with a garden hose connection), and will lead to water spraying out of the connection. Doing this can also lead to damaging the threads of one item or the other. . So, to use your irrigation or sprinkler system as a water supply you need to add, or be sure that your system already has, a garden hose threaded connector. If you already have a pipe-threaded connector coming off of your irrigation/sprinkler system, then you will simply need to add a pipe thread to garden hose thread adaptor. An adaptor like this may say something like 1/2″ MPT to 3/4″ MHT (similar to the adaptor shown in the video). . Garden hose thread is typically labeled: MGHT and FGHT. Or MHT and FHT. (M stands for male and F for female). Pipe thread is typically labeled: MNPT and FNPT. Or MPT and FPT . At the garden hose threaded connector, you can attach your Garden Grid™ or Garden Grid™ Manifold if they can reach it. If they can’t, simply attach one of our short hoses from the connector/adaptor and feed that over to your garden. Once connected, turn on your water and start gardening! #gardengrid #gardengrids #gardendesign #gardening #vegetablegarden #gardentok

☀️ MORE DEETS 🌱 First though, if you have really hot summers and have had success with shade cloths, share in the comments below ⬇️ 🌱Details: Not everyone needs to use a shade cloth for their garden, but if you get really hot summers it’s a good idea to add one. I used a 50% shade cloth, which means about 50% of the sunlight gets filtered out. Ideal for most garden plants. The reason you add shade is to help keep plants and soil cooler. 🌡️ When temps get consistently above 90 degrees plants can slow their growth, stop fruiting, and even go dormant. This is more pronounced as temperatures get higher. 🔑 The key to the shade cloth is to put it up soon enough to prevent plants from being too affected. But also set it up in a way that’s easy to remove when temps get a bit more comfortable. 👨‍🌾 2023 was the first year I used a shade cloth in this garden. Prior to that we had a neighboring tree that helped keep the sun from being too intense. But since trimming it back, the sunlight of course flooded in and I didn’t act fast enough to shade my plants. So, some were stunted and didn’t produce much. Lesson learned 😅 #gardening #vegetablegardening #raisedbedgardening #garden #gardentok #gardening101 #gardeningtips

💧This is why water towers are so tall 👀 Explanation below 👇 Household water supplies (aka your hose spigot) typically range from 35-70 PSI. Without a pump, gravity-fed water supplies rely on elevation to create pressure. 🪜 Every 2.31 ft (very specific number 🤓) of differenence between the water line and its final point of exit (with a few variables such as hose length) will generate 1 PSI. 💧 So, if you want 10 PSI, that water line needs to be about 23 feet above your garden. 😩 That’s why a sump pump is recommended for rain barrels. ➡️ The 2.31ft equation is why water towers are so tall and usually located on a hill… the higher their water line, the greater potential PSI they provide. #gardening #psi #gardengrid #gardendesign

👩‍🌾 She’s the catalyst of Garden In Minutes 👩‍🌾. A look inside my mother, and GIM cofounder, Theresa’s garden. Located in north Florida. Theresa was the catalyst for the start of Garden In Minutes. A lifelong gardener, she was tired of the difficulties and inadequacies of drip irrigation and soaker hoses, so she asked her husband Tom (seen in a few of our older videos) to help make something better. From this, he invented the first Garden Grid watering system. Today, Theresa’s garden is full of life currently growing collard greens, strawberries, green onions, leaf lettuce and cabbage - which if you can’t tell, she’s very proud of. - Bryan

🌱 More Info 🌱 Mulch Helps Plant Health. Here’s How 🌡️Soil Temp Control: Mulch slows the temperature exchange between the soil and air. It won’t prevent plants from eventually getting too hot or freezing if extreme temps persist, but it slows the process and helps mitigate unexpected temperature swings. 💧Moisture Retention: It acts as a barrier to the sun, reducing evaporation loss near the surface of your soil. 🤧Soil Born Disease Prevention: Soil can harbor disease spores, which can splash up on your plants when it rains or if you use overhead irrigation (that’s why we made the Garden Grid water at soil level). By covering the soil with mulch, you can protect your plants so they produce healthier leaves and fruit! 🙌 Bonuses: Less chance of weeds and better soil. If you use organic/natural mulches they’ll eventually break down and mix with your soil, like compost. 📏Tip: Keep Mulch 1-3 Inches Thick If it’s too thick it can compress and reduce airflow to soil and even cause rot at the base of plants. Also, when mulch is too thick it may invite little rodents to live in your garden & snack on your harvest. 👨‍🌾Types Of Mulch To Use👨‍🌾 🍂 Leaves. You can easily collect these from your yard for free and spread them around your garden surface. Chopping/tearing them up into smaller pieces helps create a denser layer for your soil. 🌾Straw. This is what we’re using in the video above. It’s very inexpensive, won’t have any fungus or mold, looks nice, lasts longer than leaves, and in our experience, it’s easier to maintain since it’s a bit heavier and sticks together. ❌What not to use: Hay and green/fresh mulch. These typically contain weeds and seeds. Using them risks introducing that to your soil. They’re typically the same price if not more expensive than straw anyway. 🌱Overall, mulching is a great practice to use in a vegetable garden. It has a variety of benefits and should help you grow even better plants. Just be sure to keep your mulch under your Garden Grid™ for the best possible results! #gardening #gardening101 #vegetablegarden #gardenproject #gardentok

Can you believe some of our corn plants have four ears of corn on a single plant?? I walk near the beds and see pollen falling without any breeze at all. These plants are really exploding!! We have three different 4’x8’ beds of corn with 32 plants in each, sown in 3-week successions so that we can harvest corn all throughout the summer. Things are trending toward having the best corn harvest ever, after years of small ears with uneven pollination. We’ve posted other videos with the timing we use to add organic fertilizers like blood and bone meal, in addition to the inground composers that we constantly add kitchen scraps to.
