The product came fully charged and worked perfectly with my small nespresso pods and was very quiet. One 60ml pour required about 5 mins of heating and 1 min to brew. There is also an option to add hot water in or brew cold, instead of heating it. It is about the size of a large thermos, so I'm not sure how practical it would be in a purse, but I think it would work great in your car or a larger luggage. My only issue is the manual is poorly written and hard to understand.
