Um, yes. I originally bought this to have out on my stove for Halloween. After I dropped my oven mitt on the floor, I grabbed the bat to shift the lid from my cast iron pot. I wasn't going to try to pick the lid up completely because it's heavy and was very hot, and I figured I'd get burned through the material of the bat mit.
Nope.
I was wrong.
It's a thinner material, which it makes it easier to grab the handle securely, but still prevented me from getting burned. Would definitely recommend ordering. The moon is now my go-to for setting pots onto.
