This KwikSafety Rebar Romeo lanyard is exactly what I was looking for. I have 12 palm trees in my yard and each one is over 30' tall. Safety is no joke when you're dangling dozens of feet up in the air—and I'm not getting any younger. This lanyard gives me peace of mind. This is a heavy-duty real deal kit. The locking hooks are engaged/disengaged easy; but only if you want them to. They clip onto my harness super easily, and they feel secure—I don't worry about them popping loose. That makes a huge difference when you're focused on not cutting your face off with the chainsaw; or not, you know, plummeting to my premature demise. The whole rig is built tough. Well it's safety equipment, easy to use large clips plenty of chain to help you move freely. Was hoked up working early one morning on tin a roof when the rafter broke under me from dry rot the Kwiksafety did its job kept me from falling in the hole! What else is there to say, but thanks.

I got this clip for my husband and he said it is very good quality. He said it is the best you can get as far as safety clips go. It is very secure and he has no worries about it failing during use. The brand is top of the line and it works great with his climbing harness. It is easy to set up and use and you can tell it is very good quality by the weight of it.

Ok, this is not simply a good tool for holding your chainsaws securely. I mean, it certainly will do that, but that is obvious. This is for much bigger and heavier things really. I was NOT expecting the size and weight of this thing. It is extremely well made, durable, and worth every penny of the price. If you are in a line of work that requires you to be up high on telephone poles or towers, etc. then this is what you want. It may actually be a bit overkill for even that. It's listed as being able to lift or hold 400 pounds but that is a drastic understatement. On the carabiner itself, it actually says up to 1300 pounds. Listen, this guy could easily lift/hold a ton. I honestly wouldn't even hesitate to pull a car with it. This is the kind of thing you would hang from a helicopter and transport stuff.! Really, when you get this in the mail, you will also be surprised. Only by holding it and seeing it yourself, can you really appreciate it for its quality, and capabilities. I would recommend this for anyone, as I said, for work, for fun, or whatever you do that would require a carabiner that you can trust. They don't get any better y'all.

So, this thing seems to be way overkill for a safety harness. I believe that I could lift my car with the large hook. I would feel completely safe using this while doing roofing. I redid my roof last year and I wish I had this thing instead of the rope that I used. Honestly, I purchased this to harness my trashcans behind my truck to pull them to the end of my driveway. It works well to move trashcans a quarter mile behind a truck.

In a former life I worked assembling and installing towers for communications and for wind generators (windmills). I acquired a serious appreciation for safety equipment, the stronger the better. I like that all 3 hooks on this chain assembly are safety hooks, meaning that the user must press on the secondary release lever before the main hook jaw will open. Safety hooks are much better than single hooks, which can be accidentally bumped open by a push on the jaw (it has happened to me!). I also like the large size ladder hook, making it capable of fitting around large-diameter tower legs and other such things. The 2 smaller hooks are well-sized to clip into my safety harness. I'll feel well protected while using this chain assembly, working on ladders on my house and doing tree work.

Doing any risky job or endeavor without proper safety is foolish. I'm not young and stupid anymore. And I don't let my ego dictate my actions. I'm lucky to have survived this long. Older and wiser, I take heights and falling from them seriously. This is why I ordered this KwikSafety quick release chain and hook unit for whenever I climb a steep roof to work, or climb up a tree or pole. And as a landscape photographer, to secure myself on dangerous trails and climbs to obtain that killer shot......without killing myself in the process. Simply strapping yourself can mean everything. Old legs, and a heavy backpack of camera gear, makes for a treacherous situation trying to climb Angel's Landing. Or any other similarly dangerous trail, like at Yosemite, or local. Upon its arrival, I was taken back by how heavy duty and weighty it is! Being OSHA compliant, I can understand why. The steel components are all substantial in size and strength. And plated against rust with a zinc/cadmium plating. I will still need a leg harness to supplement this hook system. The main hook is wide enough to clip to a number of large cross sectional items. I will be clipping it to the chain that runs up Angel's Landing. Heights scare me but I still pursue such endeavors. But at least I can rest assured my risk of falling is eliminated.

This hook is bigger than I expected and very solid. I would feel safe with this product on a work site at higher heights. It is on the heavier side which makes it a little difficult to move it around but that is because of the strength of the chain which adds to its safety. My son was thinking of using this as extra safety while climbing trees but it may be too heavy for consistent climbing, instead of its intended use with structural building jobs. Overall a solid product with a high degree of quality and safety in mind.

This is bigger than I thought it was going to be. Much bigger. Everything is big. The hooks, the chains...everything. I thought it would be something I could use when on a ladder or the roof, like attach this to a harness and clip a chainsaw to it. Clearly, this is made for loads far in excess of a chain saw. Maybe it is intended to carry big bundles of rebar. Sort of like in the ad. But the graphics are confusing as it looks like it will carry loads as I was thinking. Everything about this is heavy duty and it screams quality. I'm proud to have it because it is such an outstanding tool. I will probably use it with my hoist since this thing can carry very heavy loads.

This unique lanyard features a chain linked combo with one large rebar hook that slides between two snap hooks at either end. The chain is Heavy Duty and is connected to the snap hooks by D-Rings that can be used to shorten the length of chain down from 29 inch max length to make it tighter….and that is an awesome feature not found in most, if not all safety lanyards. This lanyard is made of heavy duty materials. I got it for my husband, who is building our new home with a high and steep pitched roof. He also spends a good part of the spring in the woods felling trees and this is the just the next layer of safety to add to his tool box for those types of jobs. It weighs quite a bit and may feel cumbersome in use on a rooftop. However, it is well constructed and will make the job easier by routing ropes to where you won't get tripped up in them.

A few years ago I finally invested in a safety harness. Now that I’m not a hot headed young carpenter I finally wised up. So if you want to make it to grizzled old veteran carpenter, then you should invest in safety equipment to keep you in the trade. What good is a safety harness if you don’t have good anchor points and a good system of clipping in. This setup allows you to easily clip in and out as you move. It’s a compact system so you don’t have access rope tripping you up or getting in your way. I like the heavy duty hooks and chain, and for the right situations this seems ideal. The one downside would b the weight. This is heavy duty and weighs a lot more than my rope/strap style tie ins.
