The olive green is lighter than the photos, but I prefer it that way. It's got a LOT more space than the Away commuter bag. At least, it feels that way because the bag naturally has a structure to it, making it easy to fill up. Conversely if you don't have a lot of stuff to fill in it, it might look or feel bulky. Nonetheless, I love how it looks and how versatile it is!

loved travelling with this backpack. very packable and good support. I also loved the sturdy materials. My only quibble is apart from the main compartment, the other openings do not have two zippers - thus, you can only open from one side. I would prefer if all compartments opened in either direction. not a deal breaker though. would buy again.

Bought this backpack for a trip to use for quick day trips. It's roomy and has enough compartments and two water bottle holders, plus sits on top of the away luggage. A good buy!

I love the backpack. I bought it on a trip to London and have been using it frequently since. One slight downside: the straps don't like to stay at the length setting, and tend to loosen over the day.

This bag made the trip to NYC with me last week, then it traveled with me on train to Syracuse, followed by rental car to an airbnb. I can't say enough good things about this bag. I was skeptical due to all of the reviews poo-pooing the straps. I had absolutely -0- issues with the straps. The backpack looks great and holds an unbelievable amount of stuff! It also fit neatly under the airplane seat while fully stuffed. I would buy again!!

I use the backpack as my daily work bag as well as a carry-on for travel. The bag is functional, durable, and comfortable. Would recommend 10/10 times.

I took this on an international flight and trip. It fit underneath the seat and could handle most of the things that I wanted to put in it. My criticism is that the straps are not comfortable enough. The foam is too compact and I found myself getting some strain. That said, it's not something that's unique to this backpack, but I've noticed that the more premium brands like Tumi or Briggs and Riley will have a better strap. I was however impressed with the engineering of this backpack. There's plenty of pockets and the things that you would expect like side pockets, back pockets, interior pockets are all there. It's a good backpack and I'd recommend as long as you don't let it get too heavy

Nicest backpack I've ever owned. Lots of small, thoughtful touches (a clip and lanyard for keys, magnetic rests for zippers). Lots of pockets - maybe even too many but I have a hard time citing that as a complaint. A couple of little nits but generally an excellent very practical and stylish bag.

The Away Commuter Backpack immediately impresses with its sleek aesthetics and premium feel. However, the experience takes a significant downturn when it comes to the shoulder straps. To put it plainly, they are the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered on a backpack. Even with a moderate load, the straps dig in and create noticeable pressure points, making it a less than enjoyable experience to carry for any extended period. This is a real shame because the bag otherwise functions perfectly as a daily driver and for short business excursions. The internal organization is well-thought-out, providing easy access to essentials, and the capacity is just right for my needs. If it weren't for the appealing design and the fact that I've already used it on a trip, this backpack would unfortunately be on its way back. The discomfort of the straps significantly detracts from the overall usability. My recommendation is strong: try this backpack on, fully loaded if possible, before committing to a purchase. While the look and feel are undeniably attractive, your personal experience with the straps may differ drastically from mine. I sincerely wish the strap design was different, as I truly appreciate the bag's other qualities. For me, the discomfort is a constant trade-off for the appealing aesthetics.
