Good book and my son engages with the story! I am rating four stars because although it teaches that hitting is bad, it doesn’t help educate on other behaviors or alternatives to hitting.

Great book for my toddler that is in daycare and needed to learn healthy developmental expression when it comes to social emotional learning and frustration tolerance. She loved it.

I love this topic as it’s something any child deals with. It’s great because it discusses one child’s frustration with being teased and another child being hurt.

This book is relatable to my children. The first time I read it to my 4 year old and 2 year old, they understood what was going on and how we can make things better.

My 22 month old loves this book! He interpreters the photos a little differently, especially when the little sister hits Mia, but it's very fun to watch how he makes up his own story.

My son absolutely loves the lovevery board books. He loves to see the items in the books are the same ones he has, he’s able to apply the book to real life. We love the hitting hurts books, he loves to turn back the pages and we talk about how the little girl is sad and we model apologizing and talking our feelings. I am so grateful for lovevery for giving me the tools to raise my kids with the right messages.

Our family has been working on our 4 year old's hitting (towards 1-year-old) and hoped this book would support that, but it's geared toward a slightly younger age. The parent's response/conversation is still a helpful model for us as parents, but learning to use words instead of hands/asking an adult for help is still a struggle for us (though slowly improving).

we love this book. The message is powerful, made my kids connect with their emotions and me learn how to manage this situation. Thank you, as always, amazing job.

My daughter really took to this book and this helped her understand what we have been reinforcing all along. She will reference the book when her or someone else hits/bites.

I think the story line is just a bit too complex/long to keep my son's attention. But he's not quite 2, and hopefully his attention span will grow so we can reap the full benefits of this lesson.

Want to boost your baby’s language skills and even reduce frustration? 👇 Research suggests that learning multiple languages—like English and American Sign Language (ASL)—from infancy can boost cognitive development 🧠 Whether your child is deaf Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Hearing, teaching them ASL early is an excellent way to build their language skills and may even increase their future vocabulary. @Alyse Novo started signing with her daughter at just 5 months old, opening up a new level of connection. You can too! The My First Signs book makes it easy, with easy-to-follow illustrations and age-appropriate words to help you show your little one essential signs, including “more,” “eat,” and “all done.” Whether your child is Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Hearing, teaching them ASL is an excellent way to build their early language skills and may even increase their future vocabulary. #EarlyLanguage #SignLanguage #Lovevery #ASL #Bilingual #ParentingTips #EarlyLearning #MyFirstSigns #LearningSignLanguage #LearningASL #TeachingASL #Parenthood #BabyTip #LearnThroughPlay #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #CognitiveDevelopment #EarlyLanguageDevelopment #LanguageDevelopment

Tummy time tip! 🍼✨ Positioning matters—too high of an angle can make it harder for your baby to engage their muscles. Try a lower angle with arms tucked under the chest for a stronger, happier little one! This builds all of the muscles that your little one will need in a few months to begin crawling! 💪💕 #TummyTimeTips #BabyMilestones #ParentingHacks

Thank you to @pattitu___ on IG for sharing this important reminder. 🙌 Spending time outdoors, no matter the weather, can greatly support your child’s development. As the saying goes, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.” While the benefits of fresh air and sunlight are well known, even in colder weather, outdoor play can have a positive impact on your little one’s health and overall development. ❄️✨ #Lovevery #OutdoorPlay #ChildDevelopment #LearnThroughPlay #ParentingTips

Wondering if your little one is close to taking their first steps? 👀 While there’s no surefire way to tell exactly when your little one will take their first steps, there are some exciting signs that it might be just around the corner! According to pediatric physical therapist and Lovevery expert @dr.maralamani, keep an eye out for these clues: ✅ Cruises or side steps along horizontal (couch) and vertical surfaces (wall). Expert Tip: If your little one isn’t yet cruising along a wall, try placing sticky notes at chest height along a wall to encourage side-stepping (with supervision). ✅ Stands independently for about 10 seconds. Expert Tip: Give your little one toys to hold in each hand, like the rattle balls from The Babbler Play Kit, to distract them while standing. ✅ Can easily pull up to stand and get back down. Expert Tip: It’s not uncommon for little ones to learn how to pull up to stand, but get stuck not knowing how to get down. Holding your hands at their hips and gently guiding their bottom down to touch the floor will teach them how to bend their knees (which is needed to get down safely!) #BabyWalking #FirstSteps #BabyDevelopment #Lovevery #EarlyLearning #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #BabyDevelopment #PediatricPT #ParentingTips #ParentHelp #Parenthood

Your baby’s new favorite love language? Massage. 😍 A simple tummy massage, tracing “I,” “L,” and “U,” isn’t just a sweet way to say “I love you”—it’s also a powerful way to support your baby's digestion, calm, and connect with them. Here’s how to try it: 👐 Step 1: Use the pads of your fingers to draw an “I” on the left side of their tummy. 👐 Step 2: Make an upside-down “L” across the top of their belly and down their right side. 👐 Step 3: Finish with an inverted “U” that circles from one side to the other. This simple technique can help promote digestion, ease constipation, improve sleep and create a relaxing sensory experience for both you and baby. Look for eye contact, coos, and those calm little wiggles to know they’re loving it. If your baby has any underlying health issues, talk to their pediatrician before giving them a massage. 🥰 🔖 Save this post for a moment of love you’ll both remember—or share it with a fellow parent who needs this! ❤️ #BabyMassage #BondingWithBaby #ParentingTips #BabyBonding #Lovevery #NewParentLife #InfantMassage #ParentingHacks #BabyCareTips #GentleParenting #MindfulParenting #BabyWellness #ParentLife #BabyDevelopment #ParentingMadeSimple #EarlyLearning

Let’s break down these Expert jumping tips 🧠 💥Activity 1: Encourage tiptoes-to-squat play to help build your little one’s calf and leg muscles, which are key to pushing off the floor to jump! 💥Activity 2: Use a cushioned surface, like your old tummy time wedge, or a small pillow, to give that extra “bounciness” to help your little one jump. 💥Activity 3: Find a declined curb! @dr.maralamani, pediatric physical therapist and Lovevery expert, shares, "The help of gravity will make it easier to learn how to jump down a declining surface, than on a flat surface.”

Sometimes, a change of scenery and a little snack is all our little ones need! 🍎❄️ Fresh air, new textures, and the magic of nature offer endless opportunities for sensory exploration. Letting babies experience different environments – like the crisp mountain air or the feeling of snow – supports their development in so many ways. Outdoor play helps build coordination, strengthens the immune system, and even improves mood (for babies and parents!). Where’s your little one’s favorite place to explore? Share in the comments! ⛰️✨ Thank you @Abby Barnes for capturing this sweet moment! 💛 #Lovevery #OutdoorPlay #SensoryExploration #BabyDevelopment #NatureIsTheBestPlayground #outdoors #snowday #februarybaby

This simple trick can help your baby stand on their own! 🏆 When babies learn to stand, they usually lean on something sturdy like a couch or a push walker. But letting go? That’s the tricky part! If your little one is standing with support, but hesitant to release their grip, try this recommended activity from Lovevery expert and pediatric physical therapist, @dr.maralamani 1️⃣Once your little one is pulling to stand and/or cruising, you can start having them stand with their back to the couch. 2️⃣Hold a book just out of their arm’s reach. 📖 3️⃣As they reach for the book, they’ll naturally shift forward, moving away from the couch and balancing on their own—even if just for a second! Those brief, wobbly moments of independent standing help strengthen balance and build confidence, which are key pre-walking skills! Once they get the hang of it, encourage them to reach even further or side to side to boost stability. Remember, your little one may need your support from time to time, so make sure to always sit in front of them as they practice. 🎥 @growinglovehere #Lovevery #Babyhood #LearningToStand #IndependentStanding #BabyTip #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #ParentingTips #PediatricPT #GrossMotorSkills #FirstSteps #EarlyLearning #BabyDevelopment #ParentingHacks #BabyGrowth #ParentTip #Parenthood

POV: Your baby is in their Mulan era 🪞 They may be wondering who that baby is staring back at them but by 18 months, they'll begin to recognize their reflection as their own. Mirror play isn’t just cute—it helps build visual tracking, body awareness, and early social skills. Every glance, every movement is shaping their journey to self-recognition! #BabyMilestones #Mirror #DisneyMagic #ChildDevelopment

In their first several weeks of life, your baby communicates exclusively through crying, eye contact, and smiles. Then, between 2 and 4 months of age, they may begin to coo. ❤️ They’ll likely start with open-vowel sounds, like “ahh” or “ohh,” and progress to closed-vowel sounds, like “ooo” and “eee.” 🤗 As your little one develops more jaw, tongue, and lip control, they’ll likely become more proficient at cooing, progressing to diphthongs like “ahh-ooo.” Here are four ways to encourage your baby to coo: 😊 Let them mouth safe objects and their hands. This helps your child build a mental map of their mouth and strengthens their jaws and lips muscles. Both of these developments will help foster language skills. 🥰 Mimic their sounds. As you do, make eye contact with them and smile. They’ll be more motivated to continue if they get a consistent response. ❤️ Sit face-to-face with them and make a sound like “ahh” or “ohh.” Exaggerate your lip movements and use a high-pitched tone to attract your baby’s attention. If they make a sound, repeat it and add another sound. If your child’s play space feels like it’s overflowing, here’s your sign to try rotating their playthings. Research shows that a clutter-free play space = your little one engaging more calmly and deeply in play. So, keeping fewer playthings out means your child learns more from the ones they have access to! ✨ Here’s how to get started: 1️⃣ Choose nine to twelve playthings to display on a low shelf, like the Montessori Playshelf. 2️⃣ Store the rest out of sight. 3️⃣ Rotate playthings every few weeks, based on your child’s interest. Our Montessori Playshelf makes staying organized simple (and stylish). This two-in-one storage and display shelf is perfect for fostering focus, independence, and creativity 🤩 📽️: @lisarmeade on IG #ToyRotation #PlayShelf #Montessori #Lovevery #LearnThroughPlay #PlayWithPurpose #IntentionalPlay #MontessoriShelf #RotatingToys #NewYear #ToyRotationTips #ParentTip #Parenting #ParentHack #IndependentPlay #MontessoriPlay
