beautiful, subtle. the scent of cypress is sooo calming. JUST REMEMBER TO SHAKE YOUR BOTTLE, THE SMOKE NOTE SETTLES TO THE BOTTOM. MIGHT BE WHY YOURS SMELLS LIKE BURNING.

The smell is too light. You can’t smell it when it’s burning, only briefly after blowing out the candle. Disappointed because I love this scent as a perfume.

I bought this scent before the bottle redesign and formula change and now I smell like a walking crystal store (not that that scent isn’t a preference for some but not for me). I think that the original formula actually brought the scent of Hinoki forward where as this one has a note that smells too much like patchouli or sandalwood. This scent could definitely work for some but I don’t care for the new formula.

I don't understand why brands feel the need to tinker with perfection. The original Hinoki Fantome was perfection, why mess with the formulation that was obviously loved by your customers - as you can see from the customer reviews they loved the original formulation and are not pleased with the new version / reformulation. Perhaps you will consider going back to the original.

Seeing the brand replying to similar comments saying they didn't change the scent profile but this smells totally different than the original. Soooo disappointed - it used to be my favorite perfume and now it smells like a cheap body spray from Bath and Body Works. :(

Never been much of a reviewer but felt compelled to submit this one. If you are like me and used the original formula as your signature scent then do not bother buying the reformulation. It is nothing like the original and should have been completely renamed instead of rebranded. I have given away the travel size tube I bought to try and will not be repurchasing from Boy Smells. Really wish they had made a Hinoki Fantome 2 that is closer to the candle instead of changing the original. Further, I do not appreciate that this was largely marketed as a gender neutral scent but has been changed to smell like a more generic 'womanly' scent. Dissapointing to say the absolute least that I have to find a replacement for my daily wear ride or die perfume.
