It was pretty smooth, and I only used a little product for full coverage! Four stars as it is a little darker and bluer (is that a word?) than pictured, but I highlighted some areas with a white cream paint that I had. Overall a cool product! :)

I’ve been using Ben Nye products for many years, and love them for their durability and opacity. Their creme foundation and creme colors can’t be beat. I’m glad to see they’ve started to offer foundation in a stick, as it’s essential for quick changes—will be trying it soon.

Ben Nye's Cream Color lives up to its reputation as a standby for demons, aliens, monsters, etc. It applies evenly and fairly easily with a makeup sponge and a blotting motion -- smearing or brushing movements do disturb it but that can be worked around -- and the colors combine with each other and other cosmetics well (I used a blue creme color mixed with a purple eyeshadow for a nice blush color for a blue demon, for example.) The colors on the website are mostly accurate but it would be great to see a swatch test as they don't seem to exist anywhere on the internet! Make sure to seal the paint!

I know this is called "sunburn" and I know it's not technically a blush. I've been using it as one, though, and it is my favorite. Sort of a deeper, coral color. I don't know how to explain it, but the texture is light, it lasts all day, and looks really natural.

My brand of choice for cosplay skin paint! I’m a super greasy person, but along with their setting powder and spray I’ve never had any issues with Ben Nye! I suggest a white layer underneath for the best color evenness.

For context: I'm a fairly novice cosplayer, and this is the first body paint type of thing I've ever bought and used. My mistakes were all rookie mistakes, and an experienced cosplayer would probably have no problems at all. My goal was to cosplay as an elven/alien character with lavender skin (Lotor from Voltron: Legendary Defender to be exact). I bought the purple and white to mix together to get the lavender shade I needed, but when I first used it, it turned out that it dried a little lighter than it looked when I'd tested it on my arm the night before. The cream is a little messy to work with, especially when trying to mix it. It needs a *LOT* of setting powder + some sealer spray to set up and not rub off on stuff, but with that combination, it stuck to my skin and my prosthetic ears really well! It also works well with Spirit Gum -- it actually stuck right to the makeup without any issues! I had a slight issue with the makeup around my eyes -- it would gather in the creases and rub too thin elsewhere -- but otherwise, this stuff worked really well. Overall, great results, not super easy for a first-time user -- I kind of wish it had come with instructions! But it's definitely good enough that I plan to stick with this brand for future cosplays, at least with this character. ^-^
