after breaking out with glazing milk, i remained using barrier butter hoping it would be better. however, both me and my friend got bumps on our faces so i assume this moisturizer clogs pores as well. my skin type isn't acne prone but it still broke out after using barrier butter. i'm disappointed because i based my purchase decision on online reviews and no one ever mentioned this causing bumps on the skin until i found outside reviews (outside tiktok and rhode website)

I have very dry skin and it’s hard to find a moisturizer that is thick enough to hydrate but buttery enough to leave a glossy finish. Until this rhode butter… it is a beautiful easily applied texture that leaves your skin bouncy the next morning , deeply hydrated , and still looks plump and healthy under makeup or spf. I’ve been struggling with facial eczema and perioral dermatitis since March of this year. I’ve tried all the creams, emollients and even zero therapy. the barrier butter is very rich, leaving my skin glowing, bouncy, and moisturized to the gods. i definitely prefer to use this at night time considering it is quite a bit thicker, hence the name “butter”, but i will use it in the morning on some days. i have PD so i try to avoid products that trigger my skin which makes it hard to try different skin care lines. i was nervous when i first bought rhode that it would make my PD flare up, but all of their products have actually helped to reduce my PD. this paired with the glazing mist has actually reduced the redness around my nose and mouth. highly suggest

I have been loving Rhode’s barrier butter. Keeps my face perfectly moisturized but is still lightweight. The only downfall I’ve experienced is that it keeps leaking out whenever I close up the bottle and put it back on my shelf.

Product itself is very thick and hydrating. It does leave a glow after application. I noticed they reduced the size from a 5 oz bottle to a 3.4 oz bottle for more or less the same price. The applicator is also different. The original size 5 oz- the applicator leaked (like the peptides) but the new model seems to not have that issue. Overall really like this product despite the size decrease, she will continue to purchase this again.

I love the barrier butter. It’s so rich and creamy. My only thing is, if you use water based or thin serums/ essence right before, let it completely dry down before you put on this product. It’s hard to blend in if your face is damp at all. I feel that it works best after the glazing milk. I use that combo at night, and it’s such a seamless process to apply. Just let the milk get absorbed till it feels a bit tacky on the face and apply the cream. I would also only use it at night or a few times a week instead of daily, it’s quite heavy

I have dry, sensitive acne prone skin and live in a city that has snow, and this has blessed my skin! I look so hydrated, it does look “oily” for a few minutes but doesn’t feel like it, and it seeps into my skin beautifully! Does not break me out (things like cetaphil, vanicream, and other gentle products break me out)! Also the full size bottle is A LOT OF PRODUCT! definitely worth it

Barrier butter leaves my skin feeling ultra soft and silky, especially drier areas such as my hands. I’ve never used any cream that works so well, it leaves my skin feeling and looking unbelievably soft and healthy, even a full day after applying. Excellent for overnight use on my face, Barrier Butter has already decreased some fine lines on my forehead, my skin literally “drinks in” this cream. I especially noticed the difference since my furnace was turned in my home during colder weather lately. Bought extra for friends as Christmas gifts, but I couldn’t wait to give some to a friend visiting from Malta to take back with her. My face can be a little oily when it's warm to hot weather, but it can get pretty dry in the fall and winter especially since I live in Los Angeles and it gets super dry here. Barrier butter has been amazing to me during these times! It keeps me nice and hydrated and my skin is looking and feeling soft. My hubby loves it too!
