This game is a brunch buffet of chaos. My friends and I ate until we were full. We had the maxed number of patrons allowed at the table. Even with 6 of us, each course of the meal went by at a fast pace. We enjoyed every delicious bite the unique pancakes of anarchy delivered. More outings to this fine establishment are already in the works. Okay, food analogy aside, this is a fantastic game. I have played many of the Exploding Kitten games and this one did not disappoint. I would put this in the same vein as “Happy Salmon” and “Throw Throw Burrito (or Avocado if you fancy).” It’s a fast pace game with no turns. Everyone is playing at the same time. Options change very quickly as the various pancakes become stacked. Rounds ago by fast. When you win a round you get a “Slabs o’ Butter.” First player to get 2 wins the game. I included a photo of a starting hand. Red cards have one topping and Black cards have six. Everything inside the box is pictured. You start with 2 red and 2 black cards for a starting hand of 7 pancakes. I highly recommend this game. I can’t wait to introduce it to more friends and family. Oh, we did stand a lot once the game began. A lot of reaching across the table is involved to stack your pancakes as you match them in the ever changing playing field. Best part is, this game tastes so good even my Husky, Balto, wanted a bite ;). He’s in the photos as well.

We had no idea what we were getting into and subsequently we were forever changed. Arriving in a modestly small package, it was innocuous by all appearances with an adorable Pancake Stack throwing some rad rock n' roll hand signs. Can I trust this Pancake? I usually am apprehensive about food with faces, but he seemed kind enough. Upon investigation, there wasn't much to inventory. Some cards, a sheet of rules so short that I think the recipe for actual pancakes would take longer to read, and some slabs of butter. Slabs of butter... for the winner to adorn themselves in. A badge to signify that you were the slippery, sweet, hand-churned cream of the crop. The arena was prepared. Our usual battle grounds absent the typical arsenal of diffuse cards, foam burritos, and taco pushing mantis shrimp. Three arrived that day, but two would leave defeated, victims of the light and fluffy chaos that had ensued. It was over almost as soon as it began. The cards were flying, my heart racing, and my mind swirling. My eyes darted back and forth, slapping hands out of the way of my view, seeking target after target. There was no time to strategize this victory. And it wasn't until the dust settled that it was pointed out I had been holding my breath the entire time. Such a simple game, but the sheer adrenaline inducing madness that it truly is lies within the fast paced procedure for execution. Fun? Insanely. Simple? Indubitably. The igniting ember of competition that will have you yelling at your opponents? Without question. Do you dare dabble in the anarchy?

Like most Exploding Kittens game, this is so easy to learn and play! I learned the rules in just a few minutes, and it took only about 5 minutes of teaching to get the family up to speed, including my five year old. The quick pace keeps things interesting, and everyone on their toes looking for that match. My kiddos loved the illustrations, and how easy it was to just pick up and play whenever we wanted.

Fast paced fun game. The rules were easy to understand and quick to pick up and play. The size of the game is small enough for travel and restaurant play as well. Kids under 7 could be taught this game as well! Great for family and friends! A must buy.

Really enjoyed this game! Easy to pick up and play with friends and family. You don't need to know a ton of rules. Super simple. Fun design with the circular cards. I was worried they wouldn't shuffle, but they're soft and flexible. So no worries there! Would definitely recommend.

The game of Spot It is usually a blast and I always get left in the dust by all the speedsters throwing cards down and winning super quick. Thankfully the little twist that is added in Anarchy Pancakes is just the right edge I need to come out on top. Also, the objects aren't as obvious to yell out, so things like "squirrel wearing a unicorn hat" is a little harder to get out before you can move on to another object. Frankly, I love this version over tradional versions of Spot It. If you love yelling random things, like "flaming doughnut," "cowboy starfish" or "happy baby tooth," at your friends, this is the game for you.

Our family is a big fan of Exploding Kittens games and we just added one more to our list of faves. Anarchy Pancakes is Spot It with a twist, and we think that twist makes it a lot more fun and hectic. Going to the Draw Pile feels shamleful unless it pays off. Dropping a One-Topping card on an opponent feels so good! Earning that second slab o' butter to win the game is so relieving! The rules were clear and easy to understand. The artwork, per usual, is fantastic, fun, and some really had us thinking and then laughing as we figured them out.

I'm a therapist that works with children 18 and under. My clients LOVE Anarchy Pancakes, especially those in the 7 to 12 range. It's wonderful for teaching my ADHD clients focus and persistence. Unfortunately, I play it so often with the kids that the cards have begun to peel, rip, and fray around the edges. They're falling apart! I will absolutely get the game again if needed, but I wish the cards were sturdier or laminated to last.
