Why Our 3-Year Mature Cuttings?
Most nurseries sell 1-year seedlings that take years to establish. Our saplings are propagated from 3-year-old mature branches.
Genetic Maturity: The plant "thinks" it is already a mature tree, meaning it focuses on fruit production instead of just leaf growth.
Rapid Harvest: Enjoy your first harvest significantly sooner—often in the very first growing season!
Superior Vigor: Thicker stems and established vascular systems make these trees much more resilient to transport stress.
Step 1: Unboxing & Acclimation
When your tree arrives, give it a deep drink of water. Keep it in a shaded, wind-protected area for 2–3 days before moving it to its permanent sunny spot. This prevents "transport shock."
Step 2: Soil & Drainage
Figs hate "wet feet."
Potting: Use a high-quality potting mix with added perlite or bark for drainage.
In-Ground: Ensure the soil is well-draining. If you have heavy clay, plant the tree in a slightly raised mound.
Step 3: Sunlight & Water
Sun: For the sweetest figs, aim for at least 8 hours of direct sunlight.
Watering: Use the "Finger Test." Stick your finger 2 inches into the soil; if it feels dry, water deeply until it runs out the bottom of the pot.
Step 4: Pruning for Yield
To keep your tree "Dwarf" and productive, prune in late winter while the tree is dormant. Remove any crossing branches to improve airflow and sunlight penetration to the center of the canopy.
Step 5: Winter Protection (For Cold Climates)
Although this variety is Cold-Hardy, if you are in Zone 6 or lower, we recommend heavy mulching around the base. For potted trees, move them into an unheated garage or shed once they drop their leaves for the winter.
