Purolite FerrIX™ A33E is a proprietary hybrid anion exchange resin specifically engineered for the selective and efficient removal of arsenic from potable water.
This highly porous, polystyrenic macroporous resin is infused with nano-sized iron oxide particles, enabling fast and effective adsorption of both arsenite (As III) and arsenate (As V). FerrIX™ A33E delivers superior arsenic reduction — often to below 2–8 ppb — while maintaining excellent hydraulic performance.
Supplied as brown, tough, uniform spherical beads, it offers:
·High selectivity for arsenic with minimal interference from competing anions
·Superior bead strength and low pressure drop
·No need for backwashing during normal operation
·Effective operation across a wide pH range (4.5–8.5)
·Compatibility with standard ion exchange system designs (lead-lag or parallel configurations)
·Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 for safe use in drinking water applications
FerrIX™ A33E is ideal for municipal water treatment plants as well as point-of-entry (POE) and point-of-use (POU) systems. It can be used as a single-use media or for off-site regeneration, depending on site requirements. Pre-oxidation is recommended for maximum capacity when treating water containing significant levels of As III.
Unlike traditional iron-based media, the iron oxide is securely infused within the resin structure, providing reliable performance without particle shedding.
