Dragonflies have large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, and long, slender bodies. They are among the fastest flying insects, reaching speeds over 40 miles per hour. As important predators, they feed on mosquitoes and other small insects like flies, bees, ants, and wasps. You’ll usually find them around marshes, lakes, ponds, streams, and wetlands.
