Reasonably sturdy. Suggest starting with part b side shelf bars. I've added an ikea shelf atop & beneath cover for storage of hats-usually soft (photo). Cover bottom ties detach easily (photo). Left off back footings caps to have rack lean into the wall (cali earthquake concern). SHELF HEIGHT-My big feet, mid-height shoes fit easily if end caps are switched-gain spacial height (photos). WIDTH-3 pairs fit if alternated (photo). Generally, shoe boxes fit better sideways versus front to back (photo). Overall good deal for $$ great for college bound shoe divas. Easy to put together, have a little more space under my sink. No directions but by looking at the picture on the box it was simple to assemble.

Perfect except the little piece that holds a flat towel comes off. I’ve just taken it off, but it definitely saved me from a lot of frustration of water buildup under my soap dispenser!
