Head to Toe: Let’s Go! invites children to explore body parts and actions through playful movement and interactive language. With simple, repetitive phrases and engaging actions, children touch, move, and discover how their bodies work from head to toe.
Created by a Speech-Language Pathologist (MA, CCC-SLP), this AAC-supported storybook was designed to promote early communication and language development for children with diverse communication profiles.
The book includes AAC icons integrated throughout the story, a body parts communication board, and an action grid to support modeling and participation. The language is intentionally short, repetitive, and organized to allow high-tech AAC users to remain within common body-part folders found on many AAC systems.
Thoughtfully designed with low visual complexity and ease of navigation in mind, this book supports communication partners who are new to AAC while welcoming all communicators.
Developed using AAC best practices and intended to be used with aided language input, this story encourages shared reading, language modeling, and meaningful interaction between children and their communication partners.
