First of all, thank you so much to all the folks who got on here with pictures and details about your allergic reactions to this product. Let me start by saying I love The Ordinary, but this one has caused me tears and pain. Another important point, I see so many people commenting under the review telling of swollen and red eyelids and undereyes with, “Duh, don’t use it near your eyes!” I have NEVER used this product anywhere near my eyelids or under eyes. However, I have experienced the sever swollen and red lids and under eyes. I went to the doctor twice for this because of the pain and trouble opening my eyes when they were extremely swollen. I’ve also spent a great deal of time journaling all my food intake, possible exposure to mold—just changed out my AC unit ($500) because my doctor said it could be mold, and other possible triggers and nothing. I stopped using all skincare for the past week except for a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer with no active ingredients, and an eczema eye cream because I was still scaling from my previous flareup. I thought it was safe to add back my salicylic acid on my chin and my hairline because I was starting to break out. Sure enough, a few hours later I start to feel the familiar itching under my eyes, look in the mirror, and there is the familiar swelling and redness. I started looking for a review of each of The Ordinary products I use and I found my way here, finally seeing pictures of eye area reactions that look just like mine. I am so happy to finally have the answer and I want to thank everyone who took the time to document your experience. I was about spend so much money on a dermatologist AND an allergist to get this figured out. I’m am writing this to help others who are looking for answers.
