It's simple to use. I use in my basemen. Install feet, attach hose (cut to least size you need for better flow), and plug it into your outlet. Because the extreme humidity it runs all the time but keeps my basement, that is usually in the 80s, in the low 60s. Although I would love it to be lower. I am very happy that it could do better than any other dehumidifier previously purchased, while using less energy, quieter, and with less maintainence. The only thing that I had to do was adjust the front higher than the back so water wouldn't accumulate in the machine. I don't know if that's just me but it's a small adjustment for great performance. I will buy one more for my crawlspace.
