when I first got this retinol serum, I immediately thought that it was going to help with my fine lines under my eyes and my smile lines aswell. I’m 15 and I know it doesn’t sound great to use retinol, but I heard that it’s really good with acne. I have combination oily skin meaning that my T-zone is very oily. My cheeks are super dry, so is my chin. I have hormonal acne, and I tend to get it around my chin area. I heard that retinol is very good for acne, but I found that out after I had got it in the beginning when I use the first couple days, I thought my skin was so clear. Did I still have breakouts of course I did. When I started it to use more consistently as of right now, I am on the third week mark and I am starting to get the backlashes of the pore clogging ingredients. Some of the pore clogging ingredients consist of soy bean and soya I also found that out on the website which help finds pore clogging ingredients in skin care products so you don’t have to buy the product and find out it has that way later on which what happened with me. It worked very well in the beginning but now that I’m starting to see a little bumps on areas that I normally don’t break out which consist of the lower back jawline and on my forehead yet again, it’s not unusual for me to have bumps on my forehead considering again, I have combination and skin texture is very normal even though it sucks it’s not uncommon, but it’s giving me bumps on the side of my forehead, which normally doesn’t happen and pretty much the outer areas of my face really. No I don’t know what it would be like for somebody who has perfect skin or I guess you could say “normal skin” that struggles with wrinkles but for me it’s a no. Retinols are super good for teenagers with acne and for some it doesn’t work for some it does unfortunately for me it didn’t. Honestly if it works for you that’s great but people who have combination skin and are very acne prone I don’t recommend.

The retinol serum is bright orange in colour and runny on opening.....this can't normal. And to think that i bought 2 of these. What a waste! First time buying inkey products, and will definitely not be buying again.

I’ve been using this retinol for about 3 weeks now. What I can definitely notice is a softness to my skin along with less redness AND better looking acne scars. I know it says more visible benefits take longer (6 weeks) , but I’m halfway there and already see and feel a difference. Mind you, I didn’t think I’d ever use a retinol, but upon getting more into skincare and finding an irresistible sale, I decided to try it. I actually questioned myself asking why I hadn’t started using retinol earlier. Better late than never though. As for sensitivity, like I have, I really have to hydrate my skin before putting any retinol on. So, at this point, I use the Inkey Exosome Hydro-Glow Complex to start, then some niacinamide a few minutes later, followed by retinol a few mins after that, and THEN my moisturizer. I like mixing the residual retinol on my fingers with some moisturizer to put on my lower eye area and mouth area. Works for me!

This retinol serum is a great place to start as a beginner. I’ve been using it once a week for a few weeks. There has been a little bit of purging but I like that it’s not overly drying or harsh as some formulas are.
